Hi Ladies,
Well I haven't been here for ages, Sorry about that. Just been hecticly busy.

Anthea,
I am sooo sorry to hear that your little baby girl is ill! Hope they can determine what the cause is today. I had a lumbar punch when I was about 7 years old. And I can still remember that pain to today. I will definitely keep Morgan in my prayers. Big hug to you too, I can just imagine how difficult this must all be for you!

Tazzy9,
Sorry to hear about Connor as well. Hope he is better real soon. Glad to hear that you got him to latch. It really is so special to breastfeed.

SMA,
Is Tamina doing better on her formula?

AFM,
This might be a bit of a long post so bear with me:

So I too am BF'ding. In the beginning Anja slept very badly. Crying most nights and eventually falling asleep from pure exhaustion from all the crying and screaming.
I was getting worried that my breastmilk wasn't sufficient for her and that she was always hungry. So I took her to get weighed at 4 weeks. I use a private nurse in Garsfontein that specializes in babies and breast feeding. She asked me what blood group hubby and I are. and when I told her I am O+ and hubby A- she told me Anja might be Lactose intolerant and that I should cut ALL forms of dairy from my diet. So now I am on Goats milk products, which tastes great and his also lower in cholesterol.
Anja is sleeping for 7 hours at night now and is much happier and "chatty" during the day.
I took her for her injections on Monday, she was sooo brave. she just whimpered a little. And I am very grateful that it didn't make her sick. she was just very sleepy. I must say the nurse gave her a Viburcol suppository to help keep her calm for the rest of the day. It is a homeopathical suppository that contains chamomile. AWESOME stuff. They give one about 5-10 min before injection and another one 8 hours later.

Other than that she is doing splendidly. He weighs 4.849kg at 6 weeks and is 59cm long.
And I finally got her photo's back from the shoot.

Oh no Anthea, I'm so sorry to hear that she is still not well, my peas said its terrible when they get sick so young cause the cant say what is wrong unless they run all those tests and do lumbar punctures etc you poor thing! I cried when Connor had his jabs so I cannot begin to imagine how u must be feeling! Praying for,you that her count increases, please keep us posted!
Connor sleeps from about 6 till 12:30'then 3 hourly from there on so I'm pooped! Did I mention I got him to latch after 3 weeks - a miracle if u ask me and I'm so happy! Just love Bf!
He is better now, was so sad seeing him sick! Plead said lymph nodes up are an indication of a virus, can't say what though!
Other than that I love being his mommy and dreading going back to work :( even though we still have some time!
Thinking of u
Hope all the other mommies are well
Xx

HI Sma and Tazzy 9

Thanks for all your concern. We were in hospital for a week, with all sorts of tests being done, including a lumbar puncture   My poor baby! All tests came back negative, except for the white blood cell count, which was abnormally low... This leads to her picking up all sorts of infections that a normal child wouldnt...

We go back tomorrow for another blood test  And hopefully the count would have increased! *PRAYING*

If the count doesnt increase to normal levels she may need a bone marrow transplant eventually, else she'll always be a sickly child! We are staying positive that the count will increase.

Other than night she is still such a good child... We have reached the 7hour sstraight through sleeping at night :woohoo: :woohoo: Which is awesome, so i basically only feed once a night, and then when we wake up. During the day she demand feeds, which is anything from every 2-3hours... This is because of the stay in the hospital when she wasnt feeding so well. At discharge last week she weighed 4.2kgs - curious to see what she weighs tomorrow. Only having her 6week injections tomorrow - she'll be 8weeks on thursday...

@Tazzy9 - How is Connor doing? What causes the lymph nodes to be up?

Morgan was admitted to hospital this morning at 02:00... With a fever of 38.6 degrees. Don't know what caused it. They are still running tests and scans!

Please pray for my baby, that its nothing serious!!!!

Anthea your pics are soooo nice!!! Glad Morgan is growing nicely, how's her stomach doing?

Tamina is also struggling a bit, but I expected it since she's more bottle. Giving her Buscopan when it gets bad, helps but seems like it makes her release wind painfully, but then after that she sleeps peacefully. What do yo'll ladies use for wind cramps? I have her on Infacare Gold, hope it's not part of the problem cos I'm not familiar with any other formula. My son started on S26 but changed him to Infacare also and he loved it...but he was older....okay now I'm opening up a brand new bag of worry......
