Hi all the Mommies and Mommies-to-be's
I hadn't have time to tell you my birth story so here goes!
For those who don't know, I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes (GD) at about 34weeks pregnant..On the 20th of December I went for my check up at 38weeks...the doc said that I had to be induced before any complications occurs due to the GD. They wanted to admit me right there and then but I said I'd come back on the 21st rather as I didn't have anything with me and I still had to go buy the last of my kids christmas prezzies, lol.
When I called my husband he was so shocked at the news that the baby is coming sooner even though he was saying all along that our little boy will be here before christmas. So on the 21st I checked in at the hospital and was monitored practically whole day. The Saturday, 22nd December I was taken to the labour ward where the "torture" was to begin. At 7h15am I was given the 1st dosage of meds that was to start the labour and then again at about 11am. During that time I could feel my belly contract but had no pain other than very light period-like cramps.
The pains only started after I had the second dosage. The doc only broke my waters at about 2pm and may I add that I've never seen so much of it in my life! The doc was joking that I'm busy flooding the place with my amniotic fluid, lol. After an hour I was only about 3cm dilated. Nothing happened for the next 2hrs so they put on a drip to make the pains stronger...which was very, very painful. By 11pm there was still nothing happening just the hectic pains/contractions and by that time I was very exausted and was given some pain relieve to make me sleep a bit. By the following morning about 5am the pains was much more stronger and by 6h45am I felt the need to "push" and by 7h29 Jody was born. (23 December)
My husband was so supportive throughout the whole labour process and I'm just very grateful for that.
I don't know if I had mentioned it before but I had myself sterilised that same day. If I only had known how painful it would be afterwards, I would have had it done another time. It seriously felt that my ovaries was tied to my spine for the 1st few days...I was so glad that my hubby was home to help with baby, all I did was just breastfeed him. I don't know how all the mommies with the c-sections cope for the 1st few days.
Jody is sleeping most of the time and wants to be awake at night. He hardly cries just when he needs a nappy change after he made a number 2. He's a sweet little boy and his siblings is crazy about him

.
I'm looking forward to hearing the other mommie's stories.
