Okay so I don't feel as bad, we are all just munching!

I've started using myfitnesspal again - legendary app on my phone that counts calories, fat, carbs and protein that you eat when you just type in a specific food - helped me loose weight last year and I came 3rd in a body transformation challenge.

I'm trying to up my protein now because then automatically your carbs go down slightly.

As for buying stuff - I bought a travel system then took it back because it was skew. Found an awesome one online now and they deliver for free from Gauteng - must just wait for pink or blue before I buy coz they have an awesome bright pink and blue.

Oh re weight again - I started doing exercises at home - 50 walking lunges, 50 squats, 50 kettle bell lifts and 50 lifts using weights or 2 cans of chick peas ;) Legs are feeling it today - and I have my fit club class later so will be eating well for the next few days, hopefully!

Have an awesome day ladies

Hi Jupiter

Haven't bought anything yet...so badly want to, but will wait till we know the sex.

W.r.t. the just eating everything you see. I totally agree, i'm having to step up on my exercise schedule. Midwife is not impressed with the 2kg i picked up within a period of a month. First time around i was in such good shape...eish, what happened this time around i don't know.

Chat soon. Have a good week further.

Oh yes, I can relate to the eating thing. I feel hungry ALL the time, it's so annoying. I eat chocolate every night, I just can't help it, and then I feel guilty because chocolate has caffeine in it. I was much more health-conscious with my first pregnancy. This time I'm far more relaxed about what I eat. I just eat whatever I feel like. I forget to take my vitamins too, I can't remember the last time I took them.

So has anyone bought anything for baby yet? I bought a Clevamama head support thingy that straps to the car seat to support the baby's head when it's still all floppy. That's all. I went through my son's old baby clothes to see what's still usable and found a lot of really nice newborn stuff still in good condition. Mostly boys stuff, but hey it doesn't really matter. Will wait until we find out the sex before buying stuff for the nursery etc.

keep well, ladies!

Hey ladies

Sorry for not posting often - with my first baby I was a regular poster but 2nd is different in every way hey ;)

This is pregnancy is so weird that I don't know if I'm Arthur or Martha!

Gabi - sorry about sweets, was thinking of you lots and will continue to.

Claire - welcome - lovely to have another mommy.

Thanks for the eating tips - yoh yoh yoh - I say I'm going to be healthy and then end up eating zinger wings and chocolate milkshake (which is what I had for supper tonight).

I lost about 4 kgs before I fell pregnant, then we went to Thailand in December and I picked up about 1/2 kg over the festive season but now it's just piling on. I also feel like I'm 5 or 6 months pregnant and everyone says I look great but they don't realise I'm only 15 weeks!! My goal of 8kgs is soooo not going to be a reality. I'm sure I've already picked up 2.5 kgs.

My gynae says don't eat breakfast (coz it makes you hungry quicker) and don't drink fruit juice (coz it's the same as a slab of chocolate) but by 7am I am starving and I have to eat something.

I'm even considering buying healthy meals just so I'm forced to be good. My hubby has also said I can't have as many days out in the week so I used to gym twice a week and now it's only once coz I have church the other night.

Anyway - that's my big moan, sorry.

Re breastfeeding etc - anyone know who you contact in order to arrange laser therapy for nipples while you're in hospital??? I heard the physio's do it but wanted to check before I make a fool of myself and call them.

Have an awesome week ladies and hopefully chat soon.

xxxx

Good evening ladies.

Where is all the other ladies, you guys are so quiet...

Thanks Claire, gave me some peace of mind

I'm 18 weeks today, went for my check-up and all went well. Only going for my scan next month and can't waite. Everyone seem to think it's a boy, but not believing them. With my first born, everyone was convinced its a boy, but at 20 weeks while talking to her in the bath...i knew it would be a girl. They even saying coz Sophie loves the baby and kisses my tummy, it's a boy, as if it was a girl she wouldn't be so attached to the baby or me.

However secretly i'm hoping for a boy too. Would like to see how i handle a little boy.

Hiya
Hmmm, good question Claire, this time round I actually have no idea what I'm having. With my first I just knew it was a boy. This time round I think my instincts are being clouded by what everyone else is saying and feeling. My husband really really wants a girl to the point that he will not even entertain the idea that it could possibly be another boy (it's quite unhealthy actually). My sister-in-law is already referring to the bump as "she/her" because she also says "well of course it's going to be a girl". Even my son says he wants it to be a little sister and he has already picked a name (Amy... after a little girl who used to attend his daycare months ago, and he still remembers her LOL).
So with all the pressure for it to be a girl, it kind of makes it hard to imagine anything else! I must say, the other night I dreamed it was a boy. When I told my husband he said, "Then it must be a girl".
???
I personally don't mind what it is, as long as he/she is healthy! Honestly. But I think we need to find out because my husband will need time to come to terms with it if it's a boy and not a girl.

Has anyone actually found out what they're having yet?
And how many weeks are all you ladies? I'm 16 weeks :-)

Hi everyone.

Gabi - I'm so sorry. I have no words. Glad you have a close family you can depend on now to help with the healing.

Bee - I also feel huge already. Trying not to pick up too much weight this time but my stomach already looks like I'm 6 months! It is different the second time. Your first one keeps you busy so you don't have much time to sit and daydream about the new baby. It is completely normal to feel the way you do about your firstborn. It only gets worse when the baby arrives because you can't give as much attention as you used to. I found it helped to let my son help with the baby. He helped me change nappies and bath and burp her. So he felt more involved. And now it's amazing, they love each other so much...it'll be worth it in the end.

I've been feeling the baby a lot lately. My close friend is also pregnant with her second (we are due the same week) and she just found out it's a girl. Can't wait for my scan to see what this baby is...I'm pretty sure it's a boy though.

What does everyone think they might be having? This thread needs some more posts! :P
