Hi MommyMe

I am going for a C-section, at this stage it will be somewhere between 15 and 21 Jan. At least this time I will expect a C-section and not be in shock like I was last time when my natural birth plan fell through.

I have typical symptoms of nausea and extreme tiredness. And terrible headaches, which I did not have with my first. How are the symptoms treating you ladies, or are you seeing the end of them?

I am starting to show a little, or it could just be that my stomach is not as toned as it used to be

Natsvan, you hit the nail on the head! I was more shocked than surprised at first, but here we are! The silver lining is that the newborn thing is still fresh in my and hubbie's minds, so it should (hopefully!) be easier this time round.

As to the name, I think this time round it may also be a little harder to choose. Our LGs name just popped out of nowhere. I still cant remember if it was me or hubbie that came up with it.

Our pram is still intact, so thankfully no need to buy another one. Only problem is with them being only 17 months apart, wont I need a pram for LG too, or do they just walk everywhere at that age? I have seen most toddlers of that age walking about, but usually the mom still have a pram with her, even though its empty. Thoughts?

I have a scan next Friday 25 July, to check for Downs. There is another abnormalities scan at around 20 weeks as far as I recall. They literally check every single thing, even the different heart chambers at the 20 week scan.

Natural birth is not an option for me, too little time between the two pregnancies.

If you can afford it, I would recommend booking a nicer room. When you are recovering it is great to have a few niceties. I did with my first, and it was so worth it. More space for Hubbie and your other munchkin to visit.

Back to work now :(

Hello everyone ;)

Been quite busy at work but now have my rest days so planning to spend it building lego with my lb and spending quality time with hubby.

Welcome to the group Karmie, must have been a big surprise to be preggers so soon after your other baba, nice thing is they will be good friends :silly:

I'm convinced I keep feeling nugget move and little kicks but haven't felt anything today, maybe the other movement I felt was a big fart! :silly: I read that second pregnancies you feel the baba earlier, can't for it to start again

At the moment hubby and I are having huge debates about nuggets future name, don't think nugget would look good on the birth certificate! We chose Ruben so easily for our first child but this time round isn't going to be so easy :tmi:

We've also been looking around at prams, seem to be more confused when we leave the shop :P we have a care seat base for our last travel system but the actual pram is pretty much buggered sonwe gonna need a new one. Trying to be practical coz we already have the base so will probably get another chelino justsonwe can use the base. Not a great fan of chelinos coz ours fell apart fairly easily but then again that could be due to our very strong boy. I saw the chelino twister looks quite cute and doesn't cost a fortune, will have to take it for a test drive!

I'm getting bigger by the day, hubby is so excited about the expanding boobs! Typical :tmi: he's just not too excited about the breastpump coming out the drawer in the future! He keep making sound effects, I keep on reminding him he should be glad he's not attached to it! Now there's a thought!

My next scan is only at 20 weeks on the 15th August, gynae says he doesn't need to see me so often coz we have a 4 hour drive to him. Get the feeling I won't see him the next scan, he mentioned something about a lady that comes in to do the scan, wondering if its not a 4d scan or its just a 3d where she will check every inch of nugget. Bit odd coz my previous gynae did it all. Did anyone else in their previous pregnancy have a different scan at 20 weeks?

Going to the paediatrician on Friday with Ruben just for a check up and so she can also answer all our toddler questions! Toddlers are a whole other ball game. Ruben has decided he wants to live on yoghurt and viennas, so frustrating. He used to eat veg and now rather uses it to throw across the room. Breastfeeding him was so much simpler!

I'm back to being an addict of any birth/baby related reality stories, I'm so fascinated with natural birth but not having one myself, almost feeling a bit guilty about doing another c-section. Gynae hasn't brought up the birth option question yet but I'm sure he's assuming its a definite c-section after seeing my scar. Plus the other thing is I will probably have my tubes tied so I guess its easier to get it all done in one go. Do you guys think its excessive to book a more expensive hospital room if I'm having a c-section, never had that option at the last hospital but the new one has a few different options.

Well thats it from me for today, I need to decide what's for dinner so going to go stare at the freezer!

Hi Lovely Ladies!

Until this past Friday, I was under the impression we are having a Jan 2015 baby. However, when I went for the sonar on Friday, we are actually much further along than I expected. 11 and 1/2 weeks

I am therefor officially joining this thread!

I must admit, I am quite happy that baba is coming in Jan and not Feb. I was at the height of pregnancy with my LG in winter (June, July and August) and at the time thought it must be quite hard to be that pregnant in summer with all the heat and swelling etc. So the sooner, the better!

This is my second baby, as already mentioned. This baba was totally unplanned and a huge surprise (after the initial shock ;) ).

I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies and look forward to chatting with you!

Hello all!

Very busy at work so struggle to even come online during the day!

APotgieter, which pram did you get? Come share pics!

MommyMe, happy 12 weeks! Second trimester is technically from 13 weeks 3 days if you want to get very technical but I think most ppl regard it as second trimester from 12 weeks.

All ok my side, just very busy :( my next scan is only on the 18 August! Seems so long away. Think I'm spoilt after having a few scans in a short period!was reading on an American site that sometimes they don't do scans until 20 weeks! They also don't believe in predicting gender before about 16/17 weeks which I find strange since I've found out quite early in both pregnancies.

How is everyone else doing?

Mom to a gorgeous boy (4yrs) and due with number 2 in January 2015
