Hello all

Karmie, such a lovely pic! Those cheeks :) sucks about going back to work so soon :( but you're right, we've got to do what he have to do!

Mommyme I'm also still exclusively breastfeeding and it is going well. I joined the La Leche facebook group for everytime I freak out about something. Goal is to get to 6 months like Karmie at least.
You must enjoy the holiday!!

Anyone else going away for the holidays?

Hope all the mom's and babies are well xxx

Hi Ladies

Cute pics, such a precious little boy Nadia!

Glad to see you are doing well Mommyme!

I am also still EBFing. I breastfed my first for 10 months. My goal is 6 months and then to see how it goes from there.

My little girl is growing a lot, she is in 3-6 months clothes already  She is generally a happy and contented baby, which is a relief since we also have an 18 month old in the house.

I am going back to work on 1 April, breaks my heart to go back so soon, but if you have your own business there is nothing much I can do :( I am trying to make the most of the few days I have left and luckily there are some long weekends ahead .

Take care

Nadia and Robsyc, thanks for the feedback! Congratulations with your babies - makes me very excited to meet my own :)

I have a scan on Friday (Im 30 weeks now), will see if she picked up some more weight. She is very small, has been from the beginning - measures about two weeks behind, but there doesn't seem to be a reason for it at this stage, maybe it's just genetics. I have read somewhere that natural birth could be stressful for tiny babies, so I'm not sure what is going to happen. I haven't even discussed the birth with my doctor yet.

Robsyc, sorry to hear about your experience. Dont worry, you didn't traumatise me ;) Maybe it took so long (and a longer scar) because baby was already down there, but stuck - might have been a bit more complicated to get him out!!

Luckily we live in the age of modern medicine...even though it was not an ideal birth for you, at least you are both fine! In the middle ages this would not have been the case....so I am all for c-sections, they save many moms and babies, and it is by no means the "easy way out", as your story proves!!

Hi Ladies,

Shew it's been a while since I have left a message on here! Time is just flying. I go back to work in 4 weeks :( Leaving Nathan at a creche, are any other ladies going back to work soon?

IreneL, congrats on the pregnancy! It is such a wonderful blessing! Lots of work, but worth every single second! ;) As for my birth story - it isn't a pretty one, I was one of the unlucky few. I went into preterm labour 3 times (32, 33 and 35 weeks) and eventually at 37 weeks they let him come - which is considered full term so I'm glad we made it that far! I planned on natural and I went into labour on christmas evening! The next morning my water still hadn't broken so the doctor broke it for me at 6:30am...by 12 I still wasn't dilating enough and baby was trying to push through and got stuck - they told me he wouldn't survive if we carried on with natural as he was in distress. So I had an emergency c-section....I have to tell you that I am the ONLY person I know that has had this happen - literally all of my other friends and women in antenatal class had c-sections and they loved the experience and were all fine! Anyway, the c section was long...I think there were some complications as hubby said he looked over at one point and my insides were outside on the table! The cut is also a lot longer than a normal c section. But I have the most perfect baby boy ever! I reacted to the meds badly as well. and I don't remember my first day with my son, but as soon as they stopped that morphine/pethidine concoction and took catheter out I stood up and felt a lot better. Pain was so bad for me, as I said I think my cut was a lot bigger than normal. They only took catheter out and stopped morphine the following day.
I had pain throughout the healing process and then my wound reopened from blood clots - so I had to get it drained twice a week at the hospital all the way up until 7 weeks post birth!

Anyway, sorry if I traumatise you...but that is just my story, which is one story, and it hardly ever happens like that!!! Even though I had a very hard time I would do it all again in a heartbeat and even go through more to be able to hold my son. Just be calm and do what needs to be done and all will be great! The main thing I learnt through everything is to just go with the flow and relax. Things happen that you cannot control - I am someone who always likes to plan and be in control - having a baby has taught me to just let some things go.Good luck with it all! Let us know how it goes!

I've attached some pics of my little guy, would love to see pics from all of you ladies :)

Quickly posted above coz i was so worried I would lose the whole post!!

We co-sleep at the moment. It seemed to be the way we all get the best sleep. Will move him to his cot when he is a little older.

How is everyone else doing? And how are the babies?

Forget how quickly they grow and change in the beginning!!
