Hi Moomies

I am new to the forum. My due date is 10 April and expecting a baby boy. We have decided on naming him after my father in law (Bernardus Christoffel). But we dont have I name yet to call him by. I am very picky with the name story and dont like names like Ben, Bernard, Nardus, Hardus, Chris, Christo, Christof and Stoffel. So, I am kind of stuck with the name issue. Any one having unique ideas for a name?

Hi Ladies,

Newbiemom - When I asked the midwife if the glucose was very high, she said no, but we would have to monitor it. So...yes, here is to less sugar...I think the problem is that I am having LOTS of fruit as well, obviously high in sugar too. I agree, if there is a sweet treat in the house, I will eat it!! I probably have to clear out the house or give it to my husband to hide in his "man drawer" where he keeps odd things like batteries and paperclips....he he he.

I am also increasingly becoming more nesting-like. I want to get the cot ready and just everything!!! So cute about your boy window shopping with you. My LG goes through phases of excitement and then she is concerned again about how her life will change (quite normal I guess). She loves to tickle my belly and "play" with the baby and sing to the baby...so cute!

I sat on my birthing ball yesterday and it really feels good!! So many great exercises one can do to tone all the muscles for birthing. Loving all the youtube videos with great ideas too. Have been doing sumo-wrestler style squats/yoga pose (not very feminine...) and my legs are all ready feeling stronger. I still want to try the Inversion from spinning babies, but will wait for my husband to be able to help me:

Thinking of all the ladies...especially the ones not feeling so great. xx

Oh dear Gloei, that is scary! But she doesnt sound too concerned...? Here is to less sugar! Ai, Im also getting out of control with sweet things. Just dont keep it in the house because if its here i will eat it.

I think the third trimester hormones just kicked in today. Feels like i have to get everything ready RIGHT NOW. Like my baby is going to be here tomorrow. Nesting to the max! Even took my son to the baby store this afternoon to window shop with me. He is so cute. Think he might be enjoying it just as much as me... points at everything and says how much his sister will enjoy having it ♡

Hi Ladies!!

Newbiemom - thank you for the tip about the linseed! I am going to try it!!
Ahhhh wow wow wow! The birthing centre sounds amazing!!! So exciting!
Hope you are otherwise coping with symptoms and feeling well?

Starryeyed - Hope you are managing with the nausea... xx

Saw my Midwife this week at the birthing centre. There was a bit of glucose in my urine although it wasn't extreme. She said that should glucose be present 3 times in a row we will have to do a sugar test....I hope this scared me enough to be more careful with my sweet tooth!

Otherwise I am happy to getting back into a good pilates routine and I am feeling stronger every time I exercise - it makes such a difference to do exercise!

The reflux and heartburn has stepped up a notch, can't imagine how it is going to be in 2 months time??!!!

How is everyone else doing? Would love to hear... xx

Hi lafies, just popping in quickly!

Gloei, my constipation problem is solved! The midwife told me to eat a spoonfull of linseed over my food 3 ti es a day. So i do it over my cereal, then again over fruit and yogurt later and so far it has made a massive difference!! Definitely give it a try. Took about 3 days to start working.

So sorry you are sick starryeyed.... oh no. Hope you feel much much better soon!

We met our midwife last week and saw the birth centre at her house where we will go. Its so gorgeous, overlooking the paarl mountain. Big and relaxing room with a beautiful on suite. I am so excited!!

Gloie@ that is so cute. I like the broom idea, I will use it and make him one. He does clean up after himself but when it comes to mopping the red sand from outside I have resorted to doing it myself because each place he mops is followed by even more foot prints(muddy from the mop) and sand as each step he takes sand drops on the floor from his body (he is usually covered with sand from head to toe). Any other dirt or spills he cleans when he hasnt played outside our house cause then its a nightmare.
I need to get agiolax for those difficult days.

Nels, I take the Agiolax granules every couple of days. Having 3 - 4 peaches + lots of water helps too. I find the Agiolax very effective, it just gives me reflux some nights since you take it before bedtime or after dinner.

I was actually referring to teaching my LG which cloth/sponge to use for cleaning up spills and dirt. Children are going to be messy and I think it is good for them, just show them how to clean up the mess themselves afterwards and obviously have certain boundaries about where certain messy games can be played. Perhaps girls are easier to grasp this than boys although I think it just comes down to teaching them from a very young age. So proud of my LG who unpacks the dishwasher EVERY single day! It boosts her confidence and she always proudly calls me to come check once the machine is completely unpacked. She has her own cute pink broom, a real-life one, my husband just cut of the handle to make it fit for her length and she sweeps the floor like a pro!
