if baby was moving around alot and the heartbeat strong, i dont thing there is much to worry about.
remember they work on averages and he could have just stated that baby is small - that is not a cause for concern, as very little babies are actually on the average.
if he is small, he will just monitor some things more closely, like blood flow to the baby, etc. when they are big the monitor other things more closely
and yes, if baby is smaller, it might take more time to properly do the downs screening (my gynie only do the downs screening at 20 weeks as she say baby is just to small before that. she send her patients for the fetal assessment if you really want to do the screening at 12 weeks)
and if baby is lying so low, even the next scan might be tricky if baby moves around alot.

and yes, he would have definately told you if he though that there is something wrong

As for the scan, the fact you saw a heartbeat is a huge plus. Had there been issues with baby not growing or something, mostly unfortunately these babies are miscarried and have no heartbeat.

How many weeks are you? Are you 110% sure of the date you ovulated?
Sometimes we assume we ovulate mid cycle but can actually ovulate a few days later which makes a difference when it comes to the scans in the early days.

Well my 12 week appointment yesterday didn't go as planned Got there & they took my weight & urine. Gynea checked my blood pressure & when it was time to see baby he kept pressing hard and asked if I had eaten today. He said baby is too far down & he can't get the measurements he needs to screen for Down Syndrome & asked me to come back next Friday He also said something about baby being small ( I dont know if he meant not developing properly or too small to get measurements for the Down Sydrome test).

I didn't even ask if everything was alright coz I was so confused by all this..I saw/heard the heartbeat and baby was moving around alot and was alot bigger than the last time I saw her (9weeks). I'm so stressed and worried He would've told me if something was wrong right?

Now I have to wait 7 more days until next appointment...

really hope you have an easy pregnancy that you dont have to stress about it.

this is my 3rd pregnancy. my first pregnancy i had a blighted ovum MC at 10 weeks - its is just such an painful experience that no mother should go through.
my lb was born 8 April and is now 10 months. this new little rascal was my biggest surprise ever. i am still breast feeding and was on microval, only realised i was pregnant at about 8 weeks. due date is 13 Aug.
my 2 boys will only differ 16 months, so i'll just take it as it comes.
lb is currently a very poor sleeper, so my only concern is how i'm going to cope if i have 2 babies that doesn't sleep at night

We found the chelino distributor in jhb,hubby went crazy bought the bath, baby camper which i a mad about, it has a baby day bed and it's soo qt! But he bought a baby3 piece burberry pram set! I had no say, they really have the contest things and very reasonable!

We have thought of a few names but hard to agree as it has to work in french and English and the names I like, hubby says they sound made up! Lol!

I'm Meagan, South african married to a french guy and living in Paris.
I have a son who will be 4 years old next month.
We had a hard time getting pregnant. After 6 months on clomid we started IUI (intra uterine insemination - they take hubby's sperm, select the healthiest and strongest, "wash" it and then put it directly into my uterus). I had to do injections throughout my cycle too and many scans to know the right time to inseminate. Luckily we got pregnant after the second IUI

I'm due 24 August. But in France they calculate a pregnancy as 41 weeks so here my due date is 1 September. I have my next scan next Tuesday and I'll be 13 weeks

Hope you don't mind me joining your little group. I've tried to read all the comments, but after page 2 I was like...my brain can't keep up! he he

This is my 4th pregnancy. 3rd one I miscarried. So this has been a bit stressful for me. I didn't enjoy my first scan. Hubby was out of town, so I was alone and I just kept expecting bad news. Thankfully there was a strong heartbeat at that stage.

My next scan is on the 24th of February where we will hopefully find out the sex and do the down's screening.

I have a 6yr old daughter and 3yr old son.

I have struggled with this pregnancy. Diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gra....something. At one stage I was so dehydrated after keeping nothing down for almost 3 days.

Am on meds now, but side effect is severe constipation and the pills are R500 for 5 (3 days supply) so I'm rather just taking the pills when need be.....and puking in between life, work and 2 kids!.

Am due on 29th August. C-section scheduled for 20th. Not looking forward to a 3rd one

Please give me an intro if you don't mind. how many kids. how old are you, due date?
