Good morning Ladies, trust you all had a good weekend? Daerhel - how are you feeling? Wide-eyed.. i was told that BH contractions are very similar to menstrual cramps.. or stomach cramps, however as soon as you apply heat on it, it will feel much better. A test the dr advised to do closer to the time is too take a warm bath and see whether the pain subsides. if there is no relief i'll probably be in labour. Luckily the BH is better now.. i had two yesterday, nothing today yet.
Hope you all have a wonderful day. 6 weeks till i go on leave.. jipee!!

Hey Daerhel, wow, that sounds quite unpleasant - and scary! Apparently we do have a higher body temperature while pregnant, with up to 40% more blood flowing through our systems, so getting hot and feeling dizzy are pretty normal. The raised heart rate is not exciting, maybe to do with stress at work? As long as your blood pressure's normal though, that's a good sign.

Haven't had any BH contractions yet - I don't think. Some random cramping after sitting for a long stretch and then trying to stand (and failing to be able to walk for a minute or two), but nothing spontaneous. How do you recognise a BH contraction? I don't envy you Ctelly, I think my automatic reaction would be like that of Daerhel's colleagues - worried I need to go to hospital!

Glad your scan went well Bellyhearts, as long as baby is healthy all is well :)

Thanks Ctelly.
Feeling a little better, just my heart that's gone into overdrive. It's concerned the dr before that my pulse is almost as fast as baby's, but they can't find anything at all wrong with my heart, so maybe it's just my body's way of coping.
I'm hoping that's all the dizziness is too.
Thinking maybe it was warmer outside than I had anticipated.

Ouch.. I know how you feel with the BH. I've had some horrible ones.
Scared a few colleagues a couple of times. They seem to think that any cramp at all means I need to go to the hospital!

Oooh Father's Day Sunday.... I can't wait! Planning a BIG surprise for daddy-to-be. :)
Enjoy it ladies!

Hi Dearhel - wow.. can only imagine how you must have felt.. hope you feel better now ? i've experienced dizziness the last two weeks.. so much that i immediately have to sit down. I've also had hot flushes but haven't had the hotness and dizziness together.

Hi Bellyhearts - glad to hear your scan went well. how far are you now and whats the average weight baby should weigh now?

may you all have a wonderful weekend. mine will consist of numerous horizontal time.. (sleeping / resting). i had the worst braxton hicks cramps last night.. so bad that hubby had to do the cooking and cleaning.. luckily he's very able.

Glad to hear baby is doing well bellyhearts.
I wouldn't worry about weight too much. My 2 older girls both weighed 2.5kg at birth.

Thanks ladies!
Not long left. 6 weeks maximum, depending on dr.

Silly question...
Went for a walk outside just now, needed to stretch and get some air, it's sunny and nice but not too warm, when all of a sudden I felt like I was overheating, I had sweat pouring off me like it's the middle of summer, and was so dizzy I nearly fainted.
Luckily I was nearby the smokers area, and the ladies helped me back inside.
Feeling a little better now, just shaken and a bit too warm.
Anyone have any idea why this would suddenly happen?
(I had just eaten, had a water bottle with me, and blood pressure was fine when we checked. Even had my glucose checked, which is also fine. One of my colleagues has diabetes and high bp, so she always has her little machines handy.:))
