i still to this day get tears in my eyes thinking about that moment when i first saw my baby. it is truely the most beautiful moment of my life.

I too have been worried about labour and birth.
Yes my 2 girls were both natural, but that was almost 11 1/2 years ago.
I remember the births, but not in as much detail anymore.
That's the hardest part. Trying to remember, reading up on everything, and scaring myself half to death. The closer the time comes to giving birth, the more worried I've been getting.

I'm also very pro-natural, and will not accept a c-sec at all unless absolutely medically necessary or an emergency.
I even started questioning myself at one point. Like, am I choosing right? Is it right for me to be so strict about how/what I want the birth to be like?

You've eased my mind and put quite a few fears to rest.

Angy, you are making me blush. happy that my story can give some inspiration
that is why it is important to practice where you place your focus even from now on. if you trust in your body and focus on your baby, you are ready.
but you have to practice it before hand, keep saying it out loud and reasure yourself and your baby and rather look forward to it that fear it
labour and birth is hard work, and it will be painfull, but it doesn't need to be a horror event, it can really be the most beautiful experience of your life and your perspective and focus will determine your experience

Hi girls
I had a totally natural unmedicated birth with my first too. Total labour from first contraction go birth was 8 hours.
I was 2cm dilated from 38 weeks but only went into labour at 39 weeks 3 days.

This time round I'm hoping for a water birth. We'll see. France is not big into going totally natural so they dont have huge experience with water birth. I'm not concerned though. Can do the birth alone if needs be since I'm a midwife!
Will also be doing delayed cord clamping, immediate skin to skin with breastfeeding and taking my placenta for placental encapsulation

BeautifullyAngie, I'll be giving birth at Femina. All the rooms are private at no additional cost, and they also have facilities for water births and very pro natural birth. I love that I will be in my own room before and after, at no extra cost.

I'm still struggling with my back pain, but I have an appointment with a Chiropractor tomorrow. YAY.

I guess one just has to listen to their body & not be bullied into using pain relief. Okay, your story just made me realise that it's not SO bad. I have honestly been so scared of giving birth (even having nightmares bout it) but now feel I can do it, thank you for the inspiration

i would please like to add that i am very pro-natural and very scared of a epidural and csec and any interventions after my antenatal classes knowing how they do it and so on.

so please do not feel offended it anyone do not want a natural birth, i am really not saying anything against Csec.
but for those who wants to go natural i will really point out what things to watch out for as it is really shocking how medical staff will push for a csec.
i think there is soo many woman that has been "bullied" into a csec that really wanted to go natural.
so i really did alot of reading up before my first birth to be prepared for medical staff that what to intervene for the sake of their comfort
