Hi Ladies!! :)

Glad to hear you have no heartburn today Stella! Wishing mine would subside.

So gynae appointment this morning. Eish! was there at 7 and waited till 10 to see him. My poor bladder. Just after I decided I can't hold out anymore and went to the loo, I get called in! LoL  Murphy!

All is good. Little Siobhan now weighs a very healthy 1.346kg :) and roughly 36cm in length, heart rate at a steady 137bpm.
She's moved around, and is now lying with her head up under my ribs on the right and her feet resting right on my bladder.
Somehow he wants me to get her to turn around again before the next appointment. Errr... any ideas?

Dr thinks she'll be a nice big baby, which is scary for me as my other 2 were only 2.5kgs at birth.

I was given a prescription for the heartburn. (can't read what it says, so I'll let you all know soon as I've been to the pharmacy)
Dr's only worry is that my heart rate is very high. Blood pressure is normal, but my HR is at 116bpm. I have to keep an eye on it and monitor my own heart rate for a few days, if it goes higher I have to go see him again so that he can have my heart checked. Tho he does think it could be the extra weight that's placing strain on it.

Wish I had some nice pics of the scan, but all he printed this time were the measurements, as little one decided it was a good time to wiggle around alot! Cheeky madam doesn't seem to like being looked at hehe!

If all goes well, next appointment with the gynae is 30th June at 33 weeks.

Now I can't wait for Friday for the 4D scan! :)
Really curious to see what she looks like, and how much weight she gains in the next few days.

Will definitely have some nice pics to put up after Friday's scans :)

Oh before I forget. The gynae recommended a Belly band for the backache.
And Deep Heat is allowed according to my gynae, but only in small quantities and not every day. Arnica Cream is safer.
Otherwise he says stick to the hot water bottle, or wheat bag (microwavable).
Hope that helps wide-eyed.

Anyhow... Lets see if I can get a few hours work in. Not that I'm in the mood, but I guess I have to.... sigh...

Glad you had a good night and start to the day Stella, a decent night's sleep in invaluable! I hope we all manage to get some good nights in before our babies are born! :silly:

good morning ladies,

today is just a good day. for the first day in a week i woke up with no heartburn, and G slept through the night. (was up by 4 though)
what a blissful way to start the day.

Dearhel enjoy your scan

someone asked about the 3rd trimester. yes there are conflicting info on when it starts, some say week 27 others say week 28. so i guess you can just choose...hehe :silly:

for breastpumps, i used the nuk hand pump and it worked wonderfully. when i went back to work i got the madela mini electric one. was more or less the same effort though. i actually always got more out with the hand pump.
but pumping in general was not a great experience for me. really didn't like it. but i managed to pump for about 4 months before my milk dried up completely due to this pregnancy

Ctelly, breastfeeding was such an awesome and rewarding experience for me, so i will highly recommend it for any and all. and once my milk comes in again i am planning to feed G as well again if he wants to.
even though i had a tough and painful start to it.
i will just recommend seeing a fisio for laser therapy the moment that it sore and not wait before your nipples look like a warzone

Prenessa, you should be able to exchange it at baby city if you want to

Hi Ladies

I bought the Medela Electric Breast Pump. (Due to people recommendation)
However when I went to the Baby Expo the lady at the Medela counter said they discontinued it and its not very good. So I was really frustrated after spending so much money.
So now I am stuck. I really do not want to go buy another one.

Hi Ladies, Breast pumps were discussed at our antenatal class last week. the fisio advised that a medela mini electric pump will be sufficient. My initial idea was to bottle feed from the beginning, so to pump from the beginning but I now decided against it. will go natural as far as possible. The nurse advised that most babies will not go back to drinking from your breast when they discover a bottle. its apparently much harder drinking from breasts, much harder on the baby's jaw. So that's just what they said on the topic - but its just opinions.. I guess each child will be different?

Morning Ladies,

Looking forward to hearing how your scan goes Daerhel :)

Congrats Kel16 on getting through the first 2 trimesters - just 3 months to go!

I've heard people rave about the Medala pumps, but they do vary from basic to very good, with the basic ones being quite average, and the good ones being extremely expensive. I've been given an Avent Isis IQ, which got good ratings and you can adjust the suction to suit your comfort (with a few pumps by hand to set the pace). It also has a softer attachment to your breast, which appeals to me. I'm a first time mom, though, so haven't used it myself yet. You probably want to avoid all fully manual pumps though - apparently most who use them give up expressing quickly due to the time/effort required to get anything substantial out.

Morning ladies :)

Very chilly day here in Cape Town, I have on my boots, jacket & scarf for work today!

Daerhel all the best for your scan today!

Officially in the 3rd trimester today, 28 weeks on the dot.

I was just wondering, has anyone bought a breast pump yet? Or if they have a favorite pump from previous children? I'm wanting to get one, but not sure what's the best brand to get & when the best to buy one.
