Hi Ladies
Long time since I have participated in a chat. But I have been reading the posts daily. I love how active the group has become and especially for a FTM nice to see all the second time moms contributions.
I feel I am not as prepared as some of you moms are

But it is definitely motivating me to get my ass into gear. But between work, attending training sessions and getting home so late from work because of traffic, I have been too tired to do anything. But loving some of your storage ideas. I must admit though, DH and I have at least ordered a all in one cot so should be delivered next month. I think once we have the cot, I will set everything up nicely.
Is everyone else also waiting for after the babyshower to buy their babies the necessary products (smaller things)?
I booked my bed 2 weeks ago at Linmed Hospital. That is when everything starting feeling a little more real. My gynae does C-sections at 38 weeks but for some reason I have been booked at 39 weeks (16 October now). I find it better though I suppose, the longer baby is in the better. I think he is going away the week before so cant do any ops. Hope I dont go into labour before hand!haha
For the experienced moms, how many weeks were you when you went into labour?
I am glad with all the pregnant family members, we all settled on a date finally. Although from end of August there will be a babyshower a weekend for 4 weekends!
My anxiety levels have been pretty low with my pregnancy but all of a sudden Sudden Infant Death Syndrome has been popping up in everything I read. I still thought once the pregnancy is over, everything should be fine but there are still so many other risk factors to keep in mind for the first year it seems. Or am I just being silly worry so much about SIDS?
My sister actually sent me an article this morning about the mom that died of Swine flu. I had swine flu last month and was put on bed rest for almost 2 weeks but my GP didnt give me Tamiflu because he was worried about the risks for the baby. Although my gynae was annoyed when I had told him as I should have been given treatment. Now I know how severe it can be. Thoughts and prayers go out to that poor family.
Hope you mommies are having a great Wednesday
