Oh no Kimmy, I havent had it before and ever so slightly with this one and I found it was certain foods that caused the heartburn. My app says mostly fatty and processed foods cause it and obviously caffeine and chewing gum can also bring it on. Try changing your diet first and chat to your gynae if it doesnt subside after diet change especially if you have already tried gaviscon and that isnt helping either.

Kimmy, try eno's or citro soda... One thing I found that worked like a bomb for me during my first, was eating a Papaya. So tomorrow, go and buy yourself some at the shop and give it a try. I also sprinkled some cayenne pepper over mine for digestion aid.

Congrats to all the ladies with good scans! @Aden, I love the hands in front of the face – my little one did that for her DS screening.

According to my app, my munchkin should be about 750g now... will see what doctor says in 1.5 weeks. For the last one she was about 630g so I think she might have grown more than about 100g in the last 2.5 weeks. My doctor is also going away next month  So I see her on the 27th, again on the 19th and then a long wait to see again in September.

@Juanita, that "old wive's tale" is one that I actually advise patients to do when they have boils/bites!

Last night at gym a lady came to ask me if anyone had spoken to me about exercise during pregnancy and said that I shouldn't be doing any "over head" exercises. I did so much reading up on exercise during pregnancy and nothing mentioned this so then I went on a Dr Google hunt. All I could find was stuff about it pushing extra pressure on the spine and possible causing an increase in blood pressure which is obviously problematic for pre-eclamptic mommies. But my mind started racing and I ended up contact my antenatal class midwife and she checked with her husband and they agreed to rather avoid and that weight training isn't recommended... then I was worried that I might have hurt my girl . Oh the stresses of pregnancy! I just wish there was actually a clear cut answer regarding exercise because it's so difficult to cut through the BS, the old wives tales and the over cautious stuff versus the free and breezy approach :pinch: I've seen so many fitness blogs by women who've had babies saying that weight training is fine as long you're not trying to challenge and burn/build as opposed to simply keep toned.

Does anyone else notice a difference in the feel of kicks between sitting and lying down? I've found that when I'm at work I mainly feel my girl lower down, little bubbly movements (can't really feel them much when I put my hand on the area). Then at night in bed or when I'm lying in the bath I can feel her jabs more sort of midway between my pelvis and belly button and to the side. Lately I've had sort of tumbling movements, feel almost like when my stomach is gurgling, but obviously little madam has displaced my stomach and colon so it must be where she is.

I had a long hard thought about the registry stuff and decided to set some up. I've done one on Babies R Us and Baby List and then I decided to make one of those free websites to dedicate to my girl (bundleofjoys.com). So basically the website has links to the registries and then I'm going to post an article saying that those are the kind of items that we will need or would like and tell people what we don't need (after bath changing mat, breast pads, etc). My control freak nature is satisfied that I'm doing what I can to avoid only getting clothes and blankets while also preventing awkward "We actually have that already, can it be swopped?" situations.

Oh Shizer Lauz, hope it doesn't require surgery!! I know there is a old wifes tale where you take a grated bar of sunlight diishwash soap snd mix it into a paste with a little sugar and boiling water and you put that on the sore and cover it with plaster. This draws out all the gunk, so if it is just a pio, it will come out??•keep it covered over night. Might be worth a try??

All well this side, also had a scan yesterday, all well with lg, weighing 567g already!! Booked my bed today and went for a tour at hospital, was quite impressed. Its all so real now!!

@Lillyr, that is so weird, ill be 22 weeks on sat as per scan (as per original EDD next week Tues) my gynae is Dr Dwarka at Mulbarton, who is your gynae and how far are you?

its such a long wait but im sure it will all be worth it to wait it out until the 3rd September!

as for the pain im not too sure ive never felt that, but if your gynae isn't too concerned I wouldn't worry too much maybe its ligament pains that are radiating higher than normal.

I spoke to my gynae because of late ive had some really bad headaches (I never suffer from headaches) and she said to me that with any headache if you have blurred vision and or a pain in the middle of your ribs below your diaphragm to be at the hospital immediately as it could be hypertension. Thankfully all my vitals are good and I think I know why I get the headaches too!

Oh man so so cute Aden I just love scans!!!

Had to take my lg to the doctor today as well and just have to tell you all what has happened. We had my lg's ears pierced in April and last week I happened to notice that her one butterfly disappeared. that night she told us she lost her earring. So she has had this really big pip in her ear that hasn't gone away and took the chance to ask the Paed what I need to do to get the pip out, only to be told she needs to go for x-rays because according to her the butterfly could have been tugged into her the hole, I even said you must be joking and she said she thought the same thing until one of her patients had this happen to her, so now im waiting for the results to reach the Paed to find out if my lg needs to go for surgery or not!

anyway hope you all have a lovely evening!
