We take our daughter along to my gynae visits... Just didn't take her to the 1st one.

She enjoys it and my gynae gets her involved by asking what "shape" must to make with the sonar gel on my tummy. Then my daughter gets to rub it into my tummy... she also sits on the bed with me and dr prints her her own picture of baby.

From our side we also try and get her involved - get her to rub lotion/oil on my tummy, referring to her as "big sister" etc. She was very well aware since 3 years ago that we were going to have a sibling... So I think she had some time to also "ease" into the whole idea. But make no mistake - when she found out at our last scan that it was a sister and that we already had a name for her, it suddenly became REAL and she fought with it emotionally very hard... Cause now it wasn't just "baba", it was sister... We really felt sorry for her, cause it was very overwhelming for her. But the next morning she was much better when she had time to sleep on it and figure it out for herself in her head.

I'm more nervous about the stroller (like you with the bottles), cause I know once baby gets a new stroller, madam is also going to want to sit in a stroller - although she's way to big now.

I think ill do it on my own , few days ago i was laying down with him and he touched my tummy and said mommy please move your baby to the other side hahahaha. It broke my heart. My gynae said i must bring him along to my appointments maybe he will soften up abit.

ill go with him when i buy bottles cause i used avent with him and will still want to use it again. To avoid this are ¨mine" tantrums. Hubby thinks he will be fine but i dont know,i think it will take a while.

Hahahahahaha!!! No you're definitely NOT overreacting...

Juanita and I had the same discussion and it all about a tad bit of "jealousy" towards the baby.

This weekend I was seriously guilt tripped by my 5 year old, when ever I was even looking at something for baby, I was rushed or I got a roll of the eyes... When I bought something, it was nearly like a tantrum, cause now she also wants something.

So next time - PLAY DATE! I will rather go do the necessary shopping on my own.

Hi Mommies!

Juanita, that was so handy to show all the boys to girls mommies! Now you can actually "see" it. We should also get a schedule up of the due dates... That way we can keep track of everyone's EDD's.

Pillpusher, are you getting the trolley type one with the bath in? Like the Chelino one? We're also looking into it, as it looks super convenient...

With our first however we had the compactum with the bath and we only ended up using the bath once. We have a lot of counter space in our bathroom. So I'm also considering maybe just getting a loose bath with the loose nappy changing mat, if necessary. My daughter always ended up bathing with either me or hubby, as it was just so much easier than washing her in a baby bath.

Hahahahaha! Kimmy... I just wrote about shopping for baby when you already have an older child, yesterday. It's impossible!!!
