Good Morning Ladies,
Wow did I miss on a serious chat session amongst us all
Firstly Juanita - that bag is amazing! And pretty awesome with all the necessities! Did you get that from Medihelp or Dischem?
@Lillyr - that is really aweful that your friends baby has been diagnosed with that, although with my first pregnancy I remember watching every baby show available on TV and that actually seems to be pretty common, its amazing what they do to fix it though and agree with the other ladies rather find out now than have that shock when the baby is born! However on that same note I think I would be an absolute wreck with all the pregnancy hormones I think I would be crying 24/7! Ill be thinking of your friend and praying all goes well
@LouiseM, hahahaha you made me laugh so much regarding your post about the pain. Just make sure you don't have it constant in your pubic bone as they say that's actually a condition which can worsen!
I have been getting major Braxton Hicks contractions, didn't realise that ive had them for a while, I kept telling people I feel really heavy randomly through the day, but from Friday they have been much stronger, tightening up the whole belly and then I desperately have to go to pee

checked my pregnancy app and apparently you can most definitely feel BH contractions from 20 weeks (or before if second pregnancy) as long as its not more than 4 in a space of an hour and apparently can be due to being dehydrated.
I thankfully still have my medula pump - just got to take it out of storage and see if its still working. Although I struggled big time with breastfeeding and expressing - think it gave me slight PND as everyone was on my case to 'do the right thing for the baby'. I eventually gave up and went straight onto formula two week after having my first. Im going to try breastfeeding again but this time im not going to pressure myself if I cant get it after the first week and I just cant express enough milk - formula it will be!
Just reading all your experiences takes me back as well as a first time mom everything is so overwhelming!
@Pillpusher I absolutely agree with you on taking things as they come.
Ive had people ask me if im going natural again with my second and ive told them, you never know what could happen - I would love to have natural again (even though my experience was most certainly not the best story to motivate natural - I actually think I would turn people off natural lol) however an epidural will most certainly be called earlier as the pethidine did very little to ease the pain, but I am prepared for a C-section although In my heart I truly hope I don't have one. the only thing I am really praying for is that he comes during the day as my LG arrived at 1.02am and I was so tired after being in labour from 1pm the day before, she was born and put in my arms but I was so tired and just fell asleep so didn't get the proper bonding time with her
Regarding antenatal classes I wish they had refresher classes - really want to go to the breastfeeding one but DH reckons this little boy is a boob boy and will just take to it
@LouiseM your photos are amazing I cant wait for mine in October
@Pillpusher I know what you mean lol I went to Polly Potters toy store for my LG and pointed to all the boys toys and could've gone mad!!
Also got my Discovery bag this weekend thanks LM!!!

Although my bag had a few different things in to yours. The lady also took out the vouchers but then asked me if I was going to buy my car seat now so I said im not too sure she responded with well, youll get 60% off and you can use your R100 voucher as well and then the difference you can pay in - when looking at the toddler seat it was R899 - stunning Narnia car seat and said ok why not - landed up paying R249 for it!! Either we were very lucky or you were ripped off!
Here is a pic of what I got
Also registered at Dischem and got my discovery healthcare card and as from 3rd trimester will get my bag!
How many of you have already started getting your hospital bag ready?
Have a lovely day all
