Lauz, I'm also short - 1.61m... DH is I think 1.7m - just a wee bit taller. With Elmarise I was carrying all over... gained 36kg.

Now I don't have terrible swelling from water retention, and everyone says my tummy looks like a soccer ball. But I can feel Larissa way down just above my pubic bone and then right up under my breasts - so I can feel she's big... but whether she'll be as big as Elmarise will only be known on Monday, at my next appointment.

Lilly, my off day was ok - I was just so damn uncomfortable the whole day and just exhausted... both physical & mentally.

Busy getting everything ready for the party tomorrow - just packing the bags etc. DH will go buy everything else during the course of tonight & tomorrow morning... Elmarise has athletics at school tonight, but I won't be attending - DH will go and support & cheer her on. I had the ballet concert last weekend... besides - we have to be at the venue @ 8am tomorrow, so I need to get as much rest in as possible!

Lol, PP - the electric bp is quite annoying... even if it's just a soft buzz. And your hand still gets tired from holding the pump to the breast. I'll see however how the Avent manual pump goes, but from what I've seen I was impressed... please let me know how you experience it!

BTW, which nipple cream/ointment from all the samples do you prefer?

@kimmy yip my scan is today at 2pm. First have my meeting with stem cells to fetch my kit and then off to get my scan! So excited!

@pp you will be fine mommy, dont be hard in yourself. One nurse last week told me that babies can feel when you are panicking or tense.

Lilly, as for people staring at you, am still wondering why they do that. I guess we wont know but its super annoying.
Netcare bag, i got huggies size 0 and size 1, sudacream bum cream, elizebeth anne shampoo and lotion,huggies wipes, i think that was it. And some book.

Me and my little man are doing fine, still on night shift but he sleeps better now.
My op is still "sore-ish" but not like the first time, i also started binding my belly which makes it very easy to move around, also saw my dr yesterday for a check up, and am healing quiet nicely.

@louise did you enjoy your break from household chores yesterday?

Hi mommies

Thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement. I know I shouldn't be hard on myself, but with wanting something so much and the hormones... It's getting easier and DH reckons she's gaining cause he's having to use a size 1 nappy over the newborn one (still doing double nappies until know what's going on with her hips). Let's hope!!

@Lillyr - sounds like you're gatvol! It'll be over soon enough. I had a lady that I worked with when I've locumed behind me in a queue last night and the cashier was commenting on the fact that she's still working - I didn't even realize she was pregnant! She's due in January. Different perspectives I guess!

Regarding hospital bags, I didn't even use one vest in hospital! After all that fuss about vests!! Just onesies while she was in hospital - lol! Going home outfit, you should pack something that fit you at 6 months? I took all the nipple cream samples I had with me.

Went out to arb around a shopping center while DH had ice hockey practice last night. Slowly getting more confident! El had lots of fans - so many remarks on the cute baby. There were a couple of little children that were so cute. One was probably about 18 months and pointed at her, saying: "Baba! Baba!" And another older boy walked past us in Babies R Us and said hello to her.

On pumps, the Avent manual is on special at Clicks for R560. It's between R600 and R800 everywhere else. DH definitely doesn't like the sound of the electric one!

So good to hear HVDB! I played serious dress up with my LG now she hates me trying clothes on her hahaha

Louise I'm bigger this time round but not hectically although everyone else says so! I just can't imagine giving birth to a 3.7kg baby I'm a small build so can't imagine pushing out such a large baby!
