Good evening Ladies,

I wonder how the other ladies are doing, Clueless wishing you all the best for tomorrow, please let us know how it all goes, if it hasn't already happened!

Aden hope all went well at your scan and that the concert hasn't tired you out too much!

Today I was feeling really tired not so sure why, not body tired more mentally tired. I pretty much could carry on until the 20th at work although I don't know if my mind can lol!

PP at least you haven't given up - I on the other hand gave up on the breastfeeding! So be proud of yourself! I'm very proud and impressed! So take it from me don't be so hard on yourself.

Hugs and love to all, please keep us updated with pictures of your little ones.

@Pp isnt there something else you can drink for milk production that wont make you sleepy??
Im sorry to hear things aren't working out the way you thought, but try stay positive! You're lg needs the nourishment and whether she gets it in bottle or boob form, you are a good mommy for not refusing it her and doing the best you can. You will see, in a day or 2 your milk should be more and you can go back to exclusively bf'ding. Just don't be so hard on yourself!!! Big hug xxxx

HVDB, didn't the pill make you feel whoozy?! I was the same - was given the pill literally before they wheeled me into theatre, so during the c-sec it kicked in and afterwards I just felt "out of it"...

PP, take it easy momma! You've got so much support around you - use it... maybe take an hour or 2 for yourself away from home and baba and go get your nails done or your hair washed & styled. Mommies tend to neglect themself in the transition to motherhood... And don't feel guilty about it!!! You're still the same person now as you were prior to becoming a mommy - don't forget that.

I forgot about the stomach neutraliser... but doubt it was that that made me feel nasty...

@PP, please don't be so hard on yourself, that will only make things worse. What I suggest you do is just relax, don't tense up, and don't stress, El will feel it and then become fussy. I find that if I turn on my calm button when Cara is fussy it makes her calm down, I take deep breaths and just handle her more gently and start the routine from the start... checking nappy, check for a wind and then try feeding again, or just un-swaddle and re-swaddle... but staying calm is the most important thing. I am reading "What to expect in the first year" What an excellent book. It really puts my mind at ease with so many things. It answers a lot of questions and their advise really really works. Their most import message is "do NOT compare yourself or your baby to anyone or any other baby" we are all different... different strokes for different folks! What works for other babies might not work for your baby. Yes the weight gain is an issue, but don't worry about it. Follow the Pead's/Midwifes advise and take the rest day by day. You will find the balance with milk and formula and breastfeeding, but it does take time.

Wish we could all get together and discuss these issues face to face as trying to get the message through like this is very difficult.

So stay strong, stay positive and take it day by day! Remember we are all different and our babies are all different, it is all about trial and error, but we will get there!

Hi all

Sjoe! So much discussion!

@Louise - the only thing I was given before the op was a solution to neutralize my stomach contents. As far as behavior patterns, can't say I've noticed really! El was often busy at bedtime, and she's had niggles then but it's her wanting cuddles.

@clueless - good luck for tomorrow!

@lauz and Aden - all the best for your scans! @Lauz I also couldn't find the Nuby nipple cream at Dischem. Was not impressed cause they also didn't have Similac Mom (supplement) and the rep said all branches in PE should have it.

On that note, looking for it cause I need to boost my milk. When we went for the weigh in, El hadn't gained at all :( So now I'm on metoclopramide to boost production and giving top up with each feed. So grateful for attending antenatal classes cause the class midwife has been sooo helpful with my questions and offering support and advice. I collected the pumps from her yesterday and have been able to do extra stimulation a couple of times, but the meds knock me out so I just want to sleep that much more after a feeding! If I'd followed the paed's advice on BF with formula, my milk would probably have dried up! DH has been on bottle duty. It makes me sad, but feel better that she generally only drinks about 30ml formula and then invariably wants boob again and not the formula.

I'm a bit jealous, other new mommies sound like you're managing well, I feel so helpless at times! And outings can be so stressful at times! But am trying to get out a bit more so I'm not stuck in a rut. Need to start moving towards normality (as normal as life can be after a baby!) cause I have payments to do and such.
