Tomorrow marks 7wks for us.
Been heavy nauseous again yesterday and today, but no vomiting.
And my nipples are beyond sore!!

Hi all

I was also late on a very regular cycle. Tested and got the BFP, I am now about 4 weeks and 4 days. I have not been to Dr yet as I am waiting for my medical aid to kick in, so I am very nervous. This my first time being pregnant and got pregnant on 2 month of trying. So, I have no idea what to expect.

i am new to this group and thought it might be nice to connect with people that have similar situations as me or more or less due the same time.

So this is my story....i never skip a period ever! and this month when i was 1 day late i just knew it had to be a def sign of pregnancy! i took a test on the 9th of August 16(womans day ) and within seconds it was a positive. I then told my bf that i need to get to a doctor for more confirmation,but no docs are open on a public holiday!!!!!!!!! at this time im trying to absorb the fact that there is now a real possibility that i could be a mom for the first time! and it was scary! eventually i found a doctor,not mine though,but i went in any event.i took another test before going and that was positive aswell ,so no doubt in my mind at that time that its official. My bf on the other hand still wanted professional confirmation lol. the test at docs office was positive 2.

Anyway...long story short...i am 5 weeks and 5 days today and my first scan is scheduled for the 8th September. I am so scared i dont know what to expect.

how are you guys feeling at this stage in your pregnancy ? please share...

Mommyjay, glad to hear that everything is ok at this stage! Must have been very scary. I cant wait for my appointment tomorrow, would just like to see everything is ok, especially since Im feeling a bit different at this stage than I did with my first baby. Will be 8 weeks 5 days tomorrow.

Happyface, I dont think you need to be too worried about the measurements, by first baby measured small straight through my pregnancy and then picked up weight quickly near the end.

Apologies for being so quiet.
Just been in a tough space.
Not being able to tell anyone, because we 1st want to know for ourselves that everything is OK.

Earlier this week,
I booked an app with the GP for some bloods for today, but on Tuesday morning, I had a discharge that I was concerned about and my nausea was gone. My partner was busy writing attorney admission exams and I didn't want to stress him out before the time, so I told my work colleague that I was pregnant and what happened that morning. Eventhough I don't feel seriously connected to our little mini yet, because we haven't seen him/her on a scan yet, I started crying and was surprised by my reaction.

So I made an app with my new gynae, Dr Hofmeyr yesterday and they squeezed me in. What a lovely doctor!!! We did a scan and I saw our mini at 6w4d. Also saw a heartbeat (very minute though). She is happy with the progress. I haven't had any bleeding since that morning and we decided to not start hormones until I start bleeding again.

Our mini was only 5.5mm, so Happyface I'm not sure whether one should be concerned? 6w is so early. Apparently the hormones make you feel pretty Bleh. You ok and coping?

Ps. Seeing our mini strengthened the bond so much! I just want him/her to be ok. Before the scan I had more of a 'what will be will be attitude'

I'm seeing her in 3 weeks again, for a better scan and all the bloodworks.

Also, this week...
My body decided it cannot stomach guava juice, broccoli, marmite and hotcross buns any more. These are some of my favourites.

I crave Spur burgers&fries every occasion I get, but have been eating healthy.
Eating regularly keeps my nausea away.

Hi ladies!

Hope all is well.

I went for my first gynie appointment yesterday. (6w 1d). Doc says its a good thing i came so early on, im on hormones again and the baby is a bit too small for the weeks. Have to go back in 2 weeks. We saw the tiny heart beat! Baby is 10.5mm!

I also have to stop breast feeding, im so emotional.

I also fell pregnant quickly! So it makes me very nervous for my first scan, which is on Friday. Feels surreal. Although I also fell pregnant quickly with my first, about 3 months. She is 15 months old now.

I dont think you should worry about not really being nauseous. I wasnt at all with my first pregnancy, I was also worried about it but everything was fine. This time Im also not really nauseous per se, but I have terrible food aversions - can't stomach meat!! I only want to eat unhealthy, greasy food like Spur chips and pizza ;( If I do think of something like chicken, it must be crummed with lots of cheese sauce, or else I cant bare to think of it. Hoping it doesnt last too long as it can't be good to eat so terribly. I had a bit of food poisoning on Monday, fine now, but Im hoping all is well with baby.

We havent really told anybody either, Im actually thinking of waiting to 12 weeks with most of our friends.The first time we told everybody at 10 weeks, but I always seem to find out when they are pregnant only at 12 weeks so Im thinking of making them wait too
