Hi all
It has been rather quiet. Hope everyone has their nursery ready.

Chanti so sorry to hear about your placenta. I hope that the time that remains are okay for you and that all is well for you and baby.

I found a nice doctor that will be delivering the twins. He is very helpful and told me i can keep them in for as long as i want as long as there are no complications. I was admitted to hospital on friday with some amniotic fluid leaking etc and put on bedrest. I asked to go home yesterday and dr agreed saying that i have to keep off my feet and rest as much as i cab otherwise i wont be able to carry on. I am on antibiotics and sleeping tablets to help me rest and sleep.
So 34 weeks this week and so grateful i made it this far.

Not long for me to go anymore. My placentas are already in stage 3 of maturity which is the final stage. So now we just wait until their ready to come....

Morning Ladies,

Its still super quiet here!

Thought I would update, I had my 32week scan on Friday and I still have a low lying placenta...blah... so we have scheduled a c-sec for 26 July! It's nice knowing a date but so terrifying knowing the risks of delivering with placenta previa even with a c-sec... so a bit numb from that whole convo with the doc... Have been put on pelvic rest also from now on. Praying things don't change and get worse as I have had no problem this far and no bleeds!

Hey ladies,

I can't believe how quickly time has gone and that we are almost ready to meet our babies!

@Jay - so pleased to hear your placenta has moved up! Mine was showing problematic at the last scan so will see at our 32week scan this Friday what it's looking like and most likely make a decision from there.

@Carien - It's crazy how time is flying hey. I actually washed all of my cloth diapers yesterday as most of our weekends are booked up until July which has me anxious in case baby ends up coming as C-sec.My baby shower is next sat so will wash the clothes I get then on the Sunday so that we are ready! I can definitely agree with your theory of first pregnancies being enjoyable, this is my first and I'm absolutely loving it!! Almost a bit sad that its going to be over soon when baby arrives. We only have a vague idea of name ideas but also aren't telling anyone as it just invites unwanted opinions!!

@Reese - Firstly I'm so sorry you are having to find another gynae at such short notice and secondly I can not believe what I'm hearing about them wanting to charge you for the consults you haven't had with them!! That is shocking!! It's not like you had been irresponsible and hadn't been to a gynae at all. Just speechless.... Why is gynae thinking twins will need to come at 32 weeks? Surely if you aren't going into labour you can just keep going?

AFM, 32 weeks this week :cheer: sleeping is really a difficult thing for me at the moment and the heartburn can get quite intense otherwise I'm doing pretty well. I can feel my body changing over the last few days and like it's really getting ready for this baby's delivery in a few weeks. I can't pinpoint it, I just feel like there is change happening in my pelvis and everything. First pregnancy so have no idea what to expect!! I have my app on friday and we should hopefully see if i must prepare myself for a c-sec or natural depending on my placenta. Obviously i could still end up with c-sec because of other reasons closer to the date but will just be nice to rule out the low lying placenta and know there is still a chance for natural labour! My gynae is on holiday between 36 & 38 weeks so baby better not come early :woohoo:

Hi Ladies,
@JayBee looks like your little one is having a growth spurt with the healthy appetite. Thats very good. And also very good that your placenta has moved. So happy to hear all is well.

@Carien, oh wow...born at 35 weeks. I really hope i can stick it out. I do feel better now that i am at home but i am still busy sorting out cupboards and cleaning....seems like the nesting has kicked in.

AFM, i got some very bad news yesterday at the docter. She is moving to cape town next week. I was so shocked. I need to find a new gynae that is willing to take me when im so far along. I have phoned everywhere and most want to charge me for all the major consultation fees that i didnt have with them...the 12 weeks, 16 weeks etc....which is money i dont have and the medical doesnt cover it. :(
And the other referrals that i got is too far away... so it seems like im just going to have to go with the first one that is willing to take me without costing me another arm and a leg.

So yes....more stress and i am running out of time seeing as i am 31 weeks.
We also cannot find a reliable nanny so we have arranged with my mom as a temporary solution that after the 4 months maternity we will be paying her maid full time so she can look after the twins and my mom can look after my other 2 but at least she will be there to keep an eye on the twins.

Good luck to everyone.

HI Ladies, hope everyone is doing well.

@Reese - hope your scan went well today, crossing fingers you can keep your girls in for a few more weeks. Some of my friends had twin girls 5 weeks ago, the one was home after almost 3 weeks and the other was home about 10 days later. They were born at almost 35 weeks. All good, they were just small and needed to learn how to drink

@Jay-bee - sounds like you are getting along as well, can definitely agree with the apatite!

How is everyone else?

AFM - I am well, have to say I am quite over it though, really quite uncomfortable already. Was talking this weekend with friends about pregnancy and the general consensus was that the first pregnancy was (mostly) an enjoyable one. I would have to agree, my first was 'enjoyable' but I think that has a lot to do with it being a first and its different and new and all that. 3rd time around with 2 demanding toddlers running around makes for a more challenging time. But am not that far away anymore. I had a proper 'oh shit' moment last week where I realized that we will have a newborn in 11 (now 10) weeks. Don't really know why it only hit me then, but it did. We still have a fair amount of stuff to do to get ready, but at least we dont have nothing. Sent my husband to the baby expo on Thursday as well to get some nappies so at least we are covered there.

I will be 29 weeks tomorrow, baby is growing well, moving a lot and seems to like the sideways position currently, she has been in that position for a while now, will see if she eventually turns. We are getting very excited for our trip and just trying to get work done before we leave. We have a short list of names but have definitely not decided yet. Even with our boys, we didnt tell anybody their names (or even the options) till they were born (with my 2nd we didnt know what we were going to name him till he was born) so its not really a concern for us. We will see what she looks like. I am of the opinion that even if we do decide directly after seeing her what her name should be, we will keep it to ourselves till we are a bit more "acquainted" with each other before we tell everyone what her name will be. Anyway, its not today's concern.

Hope everyone is keeping well otherwise :)
