Zodwa, the moment I got out of the hospital my mom tied a wasteband around my waist so my tummy could flatten. She is adament that she does not want us to be big. You should tell your friends that nowadays it is about being healthy! Zodwa please try and stay away from diet pills, they can be dangerous. Rather join weight watcher or weightless

Unfortuneatly was not able to breastfeed. Did not have enough milk and lb was loosing weight. Very disappointing!

Zodwa, I found that out of my kids, only Connor and Reuben "lost interest" in breastfeeding, so yeah it does happen

I don't want to seem like I am turning the issue into a racial thing, Zodwa and Yoza, but you said yourself, the weight thing may be only related to black cultures. I think for most white cultures, people expect you to be skinny...?

Anyhow... I feel better than this afternoon... But I can not get my great aunt's face out of my mind. I keep seeing her sad and crying like this morning... I can not get that image out of my head

This has been said to me since b4 i even had the baby. I dnt really pay attention to it. Was just wondering if any other cultures have ppl who think this way.

I didnt know that babies cld lose interest in breastmilk, thought they stopped when the were weaned off it. Ruru stopped when he was 2 months, but I blame the bottlefeding for that. Next time will try & do it differently.

When i was at home i got the same compliments on how good i look. I mean really. I was like the day i stopped breastfeedind im shedding the kilos. Im on a GI diet. i cheat so its working a bit.

Sorry for being scarce. i was away my dad passed on on 14 June so had to leave for the EC to organise his funeral.

I been trying to lose weight since Ruru was born, was 100kg the day b4 he was born. Im not good at dieting & have only been excercising. I was losing 1kg a month with that & felt its going to slow for my self esteem to handle. So, I got diet pills. Its been 4 days now & its going sooo well, see a huge diff already.

Ppl are noticing, great, but am not getting positive feedback. Everybody is discouraging me from losing weight sayin a mother is supposed to look, well, big. Im not a young girl no more & I need to b fat so I can look like a mama.
Spent the day with the ladies defending myself today, they saying I wont b fertile, etc, etc, etc
I know its silly but have any of u ladies gotten/hearrd such comments before? That u need to look like a mom & stay big?
Or is it just a african black thing??

Nixie Its ok love, love u too. Dnt know how to encourage him to sit. Ruru sits but has never rolled. On his tummy he just puts his head down or if he wants to grab something he'll try to get on his hands & knees. He's way too hyperactive everybody thinks he's 6/7months. Dnt know how he does it though, but I honestly want him to slow it down
Went to my prayer grp meeting or cell group meeting, not sure what to call it. I dnt go to church but meet with these ladies on Wednesdays, like that instead, anyway, EP u & ur family were in my prayers. Pray God brings ur family closer thru this & blesses u with so much love

Geez being away so long and things were really steaming up here. Clearly missed out

@ everyone else seems our babies are really enjoying the munchies lol.

Imaan loves her butternet and so does the rest of her face and hands etc.

She sits up but only for a short while then tips over. She hates laying on her tummy. She just drops her head and relaxes and giggles. Not even stretching out her hands or anything. Its just laziness lol.
