Hi Dee, I'm so glad everything went well! Thinking of you, hope it's gets better by the day!

At least my hubby is back home, so everything is better this side! I started with Weight watchers on Thursday afternoon, so I am a woman on a mission!

Hi everyone!!

So I am finally back at home, what a relief ;-) Everything went well with the birth and now of course the hard work begins!!

Had my c section just after 8am on Wed morning and LB was born at 08h20 on 21st July, weighing 3.2 kg's.

He has ALOT of hair and is beautiful ;-)

The pain was bad the 1st day, but from Thurs it became bearable, and I was up and about since Thurs afternoon.

Breastfeeding is seeming easier 2nd time round. My milk has started to come in so I look and feel like a cow ;-) Even had to express a little for comfort. LB has a good latch tho, which makes a huge difference.

I was very emotional today on arrving at home. Feeling so guilty everytime I am with LG and then vice versa when I am with LB. it is a lot harder than I expected and really thought it would be easier than this ;-(

I have a lot of help at home, but not sure if they are helping or making things worse.... feeling very claustraphobic with everyone around, however I know I wouldnt be coping without them either....

I know I need to settle into a routine right now and I know LG needs to get use to her brother now and get everything settled. I just didnt realise I would feel all these feelings! LOL

I am trying to take things as it comes though... and I know its my post pregnancy hormones which are making things worse as well....

Other than that though, I really am loving all my kids now ;-)

Hope everyone else is well.

Don't worry too much about milestones. I went through the whole "my child is behind" thing when he started crawling so late and I realised children are just so different. If you see no progress in the next 3 months, you might want to take her to a speech therapist for an evaluation. I took my son to a physio and she could identify the areas to work on. And I'm glad I went to her, because working on those areas got him to crawl.

My son says quite a few words, but not perfectly correct (can't expect that at this age in any case). I know what he is saying, but others might not. For e.g. he says "kieky" for "vliegtuig". And "ba" for "bal" and "bad", "ka" for both "kat" and "kar". Also says eina, myne, nee, mamma, pappa, baba, tatta, baai, mooi, skoene ("koene"), op. And some others I can't remember.

Ag cute man!
My LG just tears (or eats) any paper so we have not tried the normal book route yet. Still just the hard page books.

Seems that my LG is a little behind in the talking arena.
She is trying to say things but definately not alot. Just maybe the dogs name which is Sassy and she says eh he (something like that). She also tries to say ball. She still has not even said mamma or anything vaguely similar for me. :(
She says da - which we still trying to figure out what it means. She says baba and a definate Bye Bye with a wave(but only she wants to). She babbles lots though.

i guess she will get there.....

Oh, another thing. I read books to him. Proper stories and he helps me to page and does it so nicely without tearing or folding the pages. There is this one book: Die groot rooi bad. In it the phrase "spat jou, spat jou, spat spat spat" appears a few times. I always say the first part and he sometimes completes it with "spat spat spat". The other day when I fetched him from the creche, there were books lying around on the carpet where they were playing. He went to the exact same book and said: pa pa pa (his version of spat spat spat). :cheer:

Awe, that is cute! It is amazing how quickly they pick up things. They are like little spunges. For e.g. we never used any radio or TV remotes in our house (but had them lying around) and LB used to pick them up and say hello (like a cell phone). 2 Days after getting DStv and using the remote a lot, he started imitating that, picking up the remote and pointing it to the TV while pressing buttons.

O, and I also started, ehm, sex education maybe. I started naming his penis (calling a spade a spade). The other day I asked him where his penis is (like I would ask him where his ears are) and he grabbed it and pulled it! LMAO! It was so funny.

i will probably only start potty training in about a year....Will see if there are any signs from lo too!

It is too cute when they actually listen and do what you ask them to! My LG also put all the plastic lunch boxes away when I asked her to do it the other day. I was dumbfounded cos I did not expect that at all. I guess they are starting to learn. (and hopefully listen too) ;)

So yesterday I gave my LG a piece of cheese and then we read her book. Now her book is a 5 page hard cover book. Each page has only one thing on it. Eg: 1st page has cheese, next page a ball, next page a flower, milk, tricycle etc.
So i read her the book (as we always do) going through each page. Then I decide to try something different. I opened up the page with the ball and asked her to show me where the ball was and sure enough she pointed to the pic of the ball and not to the other side with the cheese. We went through each page like that and she almost got them all. (Can't expect her to get them all right :)
So I tried again. By this time she had finished her cheese.
I pointed to the page with the ball and the cheese on the other side and I asked her to show me the cheese. What does she do? She opens her mouth so wide (to show me the cheese).
It was too cute. I just laughed and hugged and kissed her. She wasn't wrong cos the cheese was in her mouth before.
Anyways just wanted to share that.... I thought it was a special moment that we had!!
Still smiling now! :cheer:
