He had recurring middle ear infection and at a stage didn't react to 2 courses of antibiotics and Cortisone, so I took him to the ENT and he said it's time. Really did the job and I could see that his hearing improved and he also started babbling more (was done at 10 months).

Hi everyone,

I just finished typing a post now and then pc froze... uuuurrrrrgggghhh!! So now I start again...

Ok, so firstly thank you ladies for those encouraging words.... yes I know it is going to be hard, but we will get through it.... eventually ;-)

My LO's sleeping patterns are not that much different from anyone else's it seems. Taylor goes to bed between 20h00 and 20h30 and wakes up between 5 and 6 usually. I will then give her a small bottle, and she will go back to sleep until we wake her after 7, or on weekends, she will normally sleep up till 8h30 or so.

She currently sleeps in her own room, in her own bed. I was planning on getting her into her own bed anyway at least 2 months or so before LB is boy, as I was really not going to buy another camp cot, however she decided on her own that she preferred the bed ;-) At about 13mo she started screaming everytime we would place her in the cot, so I went out, bought a bed rail and havent looked back ;-)

The only down fall now is that sometimes, in the mornings, she will get out of her bed, and come through to our room and wake me up to let me know if she is awake. This usually gives me such a fright LOL but it is also quite hilarious if you think about it.

She has about 12 teeth now I think, I lost count, and since the beginning has been consistantly teething in 2's.... for the most part teething hasnt been too bad, luckily....

Rakker, what were the signs that your LO needed grommets? Taylor has had 3 ear infections this yr so far, and I vowed to take her to the ENT should she get another one..... thankfully though for the past few weeks she has been fine.

As for routine over week days and weekends, well ours differ as well. her routine at daycare differs from ours but she doesnt seem to phased at all. Her nap time differs quite a bit as it really depends on our schedule.

I keep meal times and bed time the same though, especially bed time, any disruption there and all hell breaks lose LOL

As for food, well over weekends she eats mostly what we eat. As I order her food, lunch and suppers are just a matter of warming for her over weekends. As for snacks though, I try to stick to fruit and yogurt. But she loves eating everything off someone else's plate, irrespective of whether she is hungry or not. Do any of you have this problem? She can be how full, but will always want our food as well when we sit and eat, and I cannot seem to stop this.

I also love the long babbling conversations, it is very cute ;-)

Taylor has become very demanding lately though, and makes it well known when she wants something, and even more well known when she cannot get it. I am struggling with this as its wuite difficult to be consistant by not giving in all the time....

Oh and I am going in for my c section on the 21st July (think someone asked below)....

Anyway ladies, hope you are all enjoying your weekend ;-)

Glad to see somebody started a 2009 Feb thread. Febr09 mamma, are you the same person that chatted on the Pampers forum? I think you are.

In short, Alexander was born 17 Feb, at 34 weeks 6 days (I see a lot of the Feb babies were born early). 3.02kg(!) and 51cm. No need for ICU. Waters just broke, probably due to high degree of calcification of placenta.

I am 37, so nr. 2 can't happen too long from now... I feel broody, but not ready at this stage.

Alexander started crawling and talking and teething late, but all is well now. 8 teeth now (first one after 12 months only), started walking at 15 months. Teething is a breeze up to now. I hardly know when it's happening.

Been having problems with tonsils and had grommets fitted for middle ear infection. Also diagnosed with genetic skin condition: Keratosis Pilaris. Luckily not itchy or sore, just cosmetically not so nice. Basically acne like bumps on cheeks, upper legs and arms. Also red cheeks. Controlled with strong cream used for acne.

He is just the sweetest thing and I love it when he talks foreign ;) . It's amazing how they can have these long conversations without a single understandable word.

Hope to chat a lot in the future!!!

usually my LB eats what we eat, but sometimes when i didnt cook or there is no food leftover from the previous night, i give him half a packet of 2min noodles, i sumtimes still give him fruity purity so he can still pooh regularly and keeps the pooh soft, i love buying prune and pear juice for him, that helps alot keeping his pooh soft..
something i love to make when i get the time is to take a piece of chicken, mostly breast or thigh, cook it with water, vegies, and a must to have in this is pumpkin or butternut, and afterwards i debone it and blitz it, not too much, he can still chew some, and i mix it with noodles or rice, he loves this and realy helps with his pooh. ive tried it with mince but he doesnt realy like that..luckily for me he loves his fruit, naartjies, bananas, pears or apple or pineapple..actually he eats anything we give him, no problem there. he loves snackwich, coz he has so many teeth, he can chew the bread..how many teeth do your LO's have. im not sure how many my LB has, but its a mouth full..
My LB doesnt go to school, but i still try and keep by his schedule.he normally goes to bed between 9and 10. wakes up round about 8h or 9h

Yes thanks Monica, I did get them!

No, over weekends we don't stay in the same routine as she is used to at the creche! Usually in the week she sleeps only once during the day from 12:00-14:00 and over weekends she sleeps twice, maybe from 10:00-11:00 and then again from 16:00-17:00 it depends where we are and what we are doing!

Are your LO's in their own beds or still in the cot? I'm thinking of taking Linique to her own bed as soon as the summer starts, but looking for a bedrail, have no idea what to buy!

Our LG eat lunch at school and at night she eats with us, or when she is hungry before dinner is ready I make her some 2min Noodles, bread with cheese spread or cheddar cookies etc.
For her sandwith box, muffins is a good idea, if you don't want to pack bread every day, cheese, viannas, cheddar cookies, milo cereal or squillos etc.

Hope it helps!

Do you ladies give multivits? I give Linique Gummyvites, she loves it, it looks like a little jellybaby! She absolutely hate medicines, so I always check for alternative, thought I'll share!
