Potty training is typically not something you must start doing before the time is right. It can easily become a disaster. I was advised by a doctor to only start at 3 years, unless my LB indicates that he is ready before that.

My DH is overseas for 6 weeks for work and I think he will be amazed at how many new things his son can do in 6 weeks time. Especially language understanding. The other day I asked Alexander: "Are you going to put that away for me?" (Well, actually: Gaan jy daai vir mamma bere?). And he turned around, said "Bere bere" (How the hell does one do the "e" with the "^" on?). He then proceeded to the cupboard, opened the drawer and put it in. OK, he did get sidetracked and took stuff out again, but he did amaze me bacause I didn't accept a response at all.

Good luck Dee! Looking forward to the pics.

Good Luck Dee! And Congratulations!! I am sure it will all go smoothly. I hope your LG also adjusts quite easily to all the changes. And loves her little brother too much!!
Tell us your birth story when you get a moment.

FEB 09 - Is your car working yet? It is not nice to start your day like that. Just puts you in an instant bad mood!
Hope it is working now.

As for potty training. No not yet. My LG does point a finger to her bum when she has made a no 2 and then points to her room so we can go and change, but that is not all the time though. I think we will try the potty training once she is telling me each time that she has a no 2 in her nappy and then take it from there.

I will try the cows milk soon. One bottle during the day and see how it goes. I still want her to get all the nutrients from the formula until winter is over.

Looking forward to the pics, Dee!
:)

So I was trying to calculate this morning and our LO's will be one and half next month. How time flies when you having fun!! ;)
They do change so much in a blink of an eye!

Hi ladies,

Sorry I've been a little quiet, been having internet problems, and also just trying to get all the last minute things done. I didnt realise there were so many! As soon as I thought I was done, I would then realise that something else was forgotten LOL

One would have thought that after doing this just over a yr ago, that I would be more prepared this time round ;-)

Well I am having my c section tomorrow at about 07h30am, so will be off line for the week... will probably only get to log on the weekend sometime, if I have time! We all know what these first few days are like ;-)

Monica, as for the cows milk, I also intro'd it into her cereal first, but kept on putting off giving it to her in a bottle, until one day when i had no choice, as I had run out (probably porridge brain ;-) and HAD to give her her milk bottle. Anyway she took it perfectly and has been on only cows milk since then (this was round about 14 months or so). Before that I was using NIDO, but it all just became so pricey.

I am little nervous about leaving my LO for 4 days ;-( I have never been away from her longer than 12 hrs... and yes I know my hands will be full with the my LB but still ;-(

I am also praying that all goes smoothly and she handles everything well. Right now I have my mom, and my MIL in town, so it is already a strange thing for her seeing all these ppl at home. Plus she was just moved into another class at daycare (last week) and now this.... Poor baby..... I really hope she copes with all this change.

Other than that, I am soooo ready to have this child now LOL

Has anyone considered potty training yet? I read that there are a few signs which you need to look out for, before even attempting and my LO is no where near any of these signs as yet, but was just wondering if anyone's LO was displaying any readiness signals?

My mom has this notion that she will start potty training taylor when she arrives and I was like PLEASE NO! The poor child has enough to deal with right now, just let her be!! Plus potty training..... then she's not my baby anymore ;-( you know?

Was looking at a few of her pics taken just months ago, and its amazing how fast they grow up hey? I mean its only been a little over a yr now and already their personalites have undergone such drastic changes.... !

Anyway ladies, I am off now LOL just thought I would share my last thoughts before I become a mommy of 2 ;-)

Oh p.s. must admit that toddler sense is great! Of course take the advice which you feel comfortable with, and its not necessary to implement exactly what they say, to the t, but it really helps with understanding toddlers moods and sleeping patterns, etc and there are some helpful methods on how to handle tantrums, or any sleep issues which your LO may have.

Have an awesome week ladies!!!

Hi ladies,

I had a very rough morning! Hubby is away for work since yesterday 14:00 and the car didn't want to start this morning and we are 15km from school, I have 2 kids from the neighbours that is going with us to school so had to organise for everyone! It wasn't nice to battle like that!

Monica, no my LG was fine with it, but when she was 6 months we had to test for allergies and she was tested for dairy as well! But if you already use a little bit, just carry on making it more and more! That is what I suggest!

PFG is a great option, it was just to "rich" for my LG, she vomits easily and that is what happened when she drank PFG!

Still here, don't worry.

I give Parmalat First growth milk to my LB. He loves it and I get it at a special price, so it works for me. I have used little bit of cows milk in the past with no problem. I will move on to cows milk when he is 2 years. By that time he will probably be on 1 bottle of milk only, not sure. He is currently on 2.5 bottles.

Thanks FEb 09 mamma - I will definatly try just giving it to her like that.
Did you LO not have a reaction to it? No constipation etc?
I have been giving my LG cows milk in her porridge so I am sure it will be fine.
Thanks for responding.

I wonder if Dee has had her LB yet? I know the due date was soon.....
Hope she is ok! and that all is well with them!
