Thanks Feb09 mamma ;-)

Monica - my LG knows exactly where her ears are and how to use them, but I primise you, she choses not too LOL I can clearly see that she has heard me, but she just refuses to listen ;-) yes, mommyhood is hard!

I havent really approached the bottle issue yet either, there's just so much else going on now. On weekends LG will have 2 bottles a day, 1 at night time, and then the morning feed, each between 100-200ml's of cows milk. She is totally off formula now. During the day she will have water, tea or juice in a cup.

However for daycare I still pack 2X150ml's cows milk. I tried packing less, or using the cup, but the teachers said that because most of the other kids also use their bottles at school, when she sees them drinking from it, then she also wants it ;-( so thats my dilemma at the moment. She is moving class very soon though (in this week though) and I will chat to her new teachers about the bottle issue.

I am really not going to rush anything or stress about it. Right now poor LG, in one month, is going to have to deal with a new class and a new sibling and in the next 2 months or so, a brand new house as well. I think she has enough to deal with for now ;-)

Has anyone read toddler sense? I bought it today, recommendation from a friend, and was just wondering if anyone else has found it useful. If not, I will report back once done ;-)

Hi ladies,

Dee - Sorry, only have my LG, I wouldn't, but it's just my feeling, can't give a proper reason!

Monica - The other day my LG and my friend's LB played and were naughty and I asked them: Why don't you listen, where is your ears? And they showed me Heehee heee (So just never ask that question) They give an answer! :)
I decided to not bother any more, I give her her bottles at least until she give me some sort of sign that she is ready or untill it's summer! My LG drink 2 x 200ml cowsmilk a day and one 200ml formula milk at bedtime! Still on the bottle of course!

FEB 09 - I don't think you should force your LO to do anything. It might just make things worse. I think we should just let them tell us when they are ready for something.
Good luck with the teething.

I have a dummy problem - but I tell her that she does not need it as she is a big girl then she gives it to me. But always wants it back. Maybe it is a start.

Dee - sorry no boys - only child so can't comment on your question.

My LG has seemed to have lost her ears lately.... HEHE
She is not listening to me at all.
Hopefully it is just a phase that will pass....

Mommyhood is not easy I tell you!

Quick question - when you say that they are off the bottle, does that mean they are off the formula/milk too, or do you just give them their formula/milk in a cup?

Hi ladies,

Monicah - I got the bed rain at baby city, and it folds over, so you can lift it up and down... it wasnt too expensive, but it only covers like half the bed, so if your LO has a tendency to move around ALOT, you may need a bigger one.

Thanks for the advice Rakker - if she gets another ear infection, I will definately go straight to the ENT.

I am on my way to read your post right now Feb 09 ;-)

Another quick question, and I know its quite a controversial topic, but my "new" LO is a boy, and DH and I have been battling with whether we have to circumsize or not. Either of you mommies have boys? And if so, are they circumsized? And what was the deciding factor for you?

Hi ladies,

I'm sure my LO is busy teething, or doing on teething, because she has a runny tummy time and again! The previous time the tummy was like that for almost a month before the tooth appeared and then 3 in one week! So we'll wait and see!

I think I'll shift her to her own bed in summer and maybe then take away her bottle completely before March next week! May be I should rush it! Because other LO's Linique's age is of the bottle in their own bed, doesn't mean she should too??!!

Hi Ladies

Also nice to see the post going.
Welcome Rakker.

My LG has also got grommets. Got them when she was about 10 months old. Since then no ear infection, but now we got chest infections or tonsil problems :) We just cant win.

I give my LO Vidaylin with iron and Scotts Emulsion every day. I tried the creche guard but it did not seem to work as well a the vidaylin did.

Camryn has a whole lot of teeth. 12 in all. We just waiting for the canines and then the last back molars. She also started quite late, but then they practically all came out at once.

We have been thinking about moving lo out her cot and into a bed, but she moves around so much. Where i put her in her cot is not where she stays. By morning she has twisted and turned so much. let me know what bed rail you get and if it works!

thanks for the food ideas ladies.
You should try a mix veg mixture with couscous. but try and make sure that there is enough sauce (I use tomato and onion mix) otherwise it could be quite dry. LO likes that.

DEE, so your due date is around the corner. Wow, keep us informed with the new baby and the birth etc.

Feb 09 Mamma - I am also battling with the cup. But she gets her milk in a bottle and any other liquid in a cup. I have also tried different ones. I am sure that they will also learn when they are ready. I guess don't try and force it too much now. Give her an option. I normally leave a bottle of milk and a cup of something on her table. She takes whatever she feels like when she wants it.

Rakker, how do you cope with the not getting any water in LO's ears because of the grommets?
I have tried ear plugs but they just don't work so we use cotton wool with vaseline and only wash hair once a week. It is too much of a performance.
