question-circle Bullied at school - now insecure

Oh no! This must be so incredibly upsetting for you all especially your poor son. My question is what the school intends to do about it. Surely once they have gone through the correct channels they are able to suspend or expel the child? Is yours the only child he is bullying? I do believe that the school must take some of the responsibility and act very decisvely.

It galls me that you are the one who now has to think about changing schools and making drastic changes to your life like reversing the damage it has done to your child. The parents should pay for any therapy that is required..

I also think that if the parents haven't even bothered to acknowledge the request it's probably going to be a waste of time speaking to them. Unless you have a very specific course of action with possible legal implication that you will be taking if the behaviour doesn't stop. And you klap them really hard with the threat. They don't strike me as the type who will respond to the whole being nice routine.

Hope it gets sorted asap...

So sorry this is happening to your son.
I would consider changing schools ASAP.
Some might not agree with me now but if it was me and the school still did not sort this out and it is still happening with my son and the parents of the bully ignore the situation, I would go to the school and wait for the bully with or without the parents around and scare the crap out the bully and warn him that if he doesnt leave your boy alone, then you will give him a spanking cause it seems he needs one. Tell him if his parents dont know how to teach him manners, then you will do it. He will be upset by what you have done and he will tell his parents and I can almost guarantee that they will be at the school the next day to confront you about what you did.

It seems you have really tried all you could and if your son is being traumatised by this, something needs to be done ASAP. I am talking from own experience as my LB was also bullied at school, we only found out about it when he started becoming aggresive at home and when we spoke to the school, it came out that there are children that he doesnt get along with and they hurt him. This changed him from being a very sweet secure boys to being angry all the time and he is also only 6.

Best of luck

JoJo PLEASE change school!! I feel sorry for your son. :( I would have waited for the parents this afternoon when they come to pick up their son. How can you raise your child to be this rude!! I think the parents needs to be locked up!! I would definitely, go to the police in a case like this.

Can't believe this is happening!!

Bullies parents have not acknowledged the request for a school meeting.
I requested their phone numbers, will see what happens this afternoon if I get it.
My son was slapped in the face yesterday at aftercare, child was put in 'time-out' for a few minutes.
Thinking of changing schools...

Jojo, if I hear this I see red. I don't know what I will do in a situation like this. But the bully needs a moerse klap and serious therapy as well, because he obviously is not loved at home!

I just despise bullies. I was bullied in st. 3, like KNEED between the legs every single bloody breaktime because I did not want to sit next to the bully. My parents just said I have to sort it out myself. Me and the bully became friends after that. I know, I don't know why. I still tease her about it now and she's obviously highly ashamed of it. (I would have preferred it had my parents intervened and sorted it out FOR me.)

It's so terrible being bullied. It becomes an overwhelming fear.

I agree with Jems.
But then again, I really am that type of mother who will totally interfere.
