question-circle Bullied at school - now insecure

02JoJo - bullying is such a problem.

I get a shiver when I think of what an issue it is in pre-primary and primary school. Imagine this lot in high school, weighing +60gk and running around with hormones and acne.

I am starting to reconsider my take on home schooling!

<I squarely rest the blame on parents, and parents who do not monitor their children, both in behaviour and what they are exposed to. I PERSONALLY have a serious problem with "who ever you are" if your parenting style includes allowing your child to watch WWF wrestling for what ever reason ......

Bullying is like an epidemic, and I live in fear that my child will be the "one bullied" - it really makes my blood boil>

Well 2x play therapy sessions down and we will only get feedabck next week Monday. Doc wants to see both DH and I first and then will continue with C's 3rd session!

I am really anxious about next week.....

The head of the school called me other day to say she has met with the bullies parents and the father cannot believe his sone would do such a thing! I honestly believe they do not believe how bad the situation is! The school has told me they will monitor the situation carefully.

I have left it for now, even though every morning is a crying game to get him to school. I think I will be taking the therapists report to the school once I have an answer to everything, and come to think of it the medical bills too!!!

That actually does work quite well, my mom use to work for one of the top radio stations in the country and when she had a problem with my brother being bullied by a teacher and then by the headmaster, she went to a hearing with a lawyer and put a tape recorder with a massive mic that had the radio stations slogon written huge on it, in the center of the table! She said it was worth every cent to see them clean up their act and finally treat her with proper respect!

Deja - I might be in love with you -- in a total stalker sort of way.

Oh my word, that is easily the frkn best idea I have ever heard.

02JoJo - I plan to steal it sometime and use it as well. I must write it in my diary to remind myself to add this to be "problem solving" methods with "kids at school stuff" - I can think of so many way to use this.

What an excellent idea Deja!

Well the latest is the parents of the bully were in a meeting last night with the phase manager and principal and they would be giving me feedback this afternoon when I collect my little guy...

Will keep you posted on what happens and if nothing I WILL use the newspaper idea, I think that is brilliant! Thanks Deja

Jojo, how is it going with the awful bully?

I just thought of a plan! Phone the mom of the bully. Tell her your are whoever from the local newspaper and you are doing a story about bullying. You heard her son is bullying other children and you are investigating what is causing such behaviour. Can you interview her child about the bullying? You'd like the "bully's perspective".

Then phone the school as well and tell them the same thing. (Or get someone to phone the school).

I can almost guarantee the problem will be sorted in five minutes. Especially if the school gets a hint that the newspaper are onto them.

I agree with you jojo. I am not convinced changing schools is ideal, mainly because there are bullies everywhere and moving may just teach our kids that you can run away all the time, which you can't always.

Keep pushing the school and I don't blame you for telling your son to pop him one.

Dylan is the type of kid that will march into the spur play area and tell the older kids to leave and not play with the toys. Not thrilled and I most certainly tell him off and I tell the other kids that my son is just bossy and to ignore him.

I am actually shocked at how many kids actually listen to him though. I wish someone would put him in his place.
