hi ladies

well...just over 6 weeks to go. I cant wait. I am so lonely here and dont know what to do with my days.
Miami is not what I expected and honestly, I'm very homesick and just want to come back! not sure how I'll manage 3 years here ok yes, it's still early days and once I'm more settled and know people it will probably be better. but eish...for now...it sucks!

DH works until about 8pm (if not later) every night. he is then tired and doesnt talk much and all I want is company after sitting alone all day having no one to talk to.
I do go to the shops and go out...but it's not exactly very fun alone!

sorry for all the colic babies!!!!! hope you ladies find a solution...and quick!

Yvette, hope you feel better soon too, take it easy, I know with me my cut was starting to swell, and I had to take it easy, swellign went down after.

Yvette, I decided today we going to get the previous lady that was here. I noticed the mattress int he cot wasn't right last night and I forgot to check cos th e maid changed the sheet, anyway I checked this morning and the wedge was wrong thats why babies were sleeping funny. Anyway so she put Alessandro on pillows this morning but it was higher by the feet so I explained to her that the head is suppose to be higher, even if its flat and that the mattress was put wrong, ok, so thats not the problem, the problem is when I told her, she turned her face and like rolled her eyes type of thing, so I asked her if she gets irritated when I tell her things or explain and she ignored me, then I asked again and she said its fine, but but in a way that you can see its nt fine but you say its fine for the sake of just making happy, so I cant stand this attitude with her, everyday is the same thing, but she isn't a domestic worker, I just dont think she is cut out for this job, its too much for her to do domestic and babies, where the other lady cleaned our place, spotless in 4 hours, and she has had experience with twins from birth, the maid I have now said she has "experience", I asked her from where she had experience for 2/3 days in th ehospital and "raised" her children, I told her I dont need her to raise my kids, im their mother, thats what Im there for. Anyway, she's been trying really today, cleaning lots, but I think its cos she saw I was pissed off this morning.

Anway, babies... yesterday was a day that I would not liek repeated, my poor babies, started from morning to late afternoon when they eventually settled then slept for almost 5 hours because they had such a rough day. I dont want to give the bennets colic as I did on Sat/Sun, but Sunday they didn't eat much cos they were so drowsy from it and I didn't even give the full dosage. I'm going to take them to chiro and maybe change Alessandro to Novalac Anti colic, apparently you see a difference within 12/18 hours, Alessandro is the worst, and he isn't even that bad compared, I was reading all the thing Sterretjie put and my poor boy suffers from those, my heart breaks when they cry tears, and he will just belt out that cry whenever. I also think that they have been eating too much, its crappy cos when they came home other people were looking after my babies and when I came I basically fell into routine with them, so for their weight they are suppose to be drinking about 70mls, they have been drinking between 80-100, which isn't bad, thing is with them eating 3 hourly, they little tummies dont have time to digest the food and I think thats a big part of their cramping, they dont pass stools as often as they should, no they not consitpated cos their poo is not hard, so I think cos of them being prem and their digestive system still developing they battling, but now when I feed them, I let them drink what they can, the nurses would basically force 100/110, which I dont do anymore, they cant handle it, I dont think, yesterday I onyl gave them 75mls in the evening, but after drinking what they were I felt like I was depriving them so landed up topping sometimes or giving water. But even today they not drinking as much as what they were, but its ok, as long as they dont have cramps (which they still do), so in time maybe.

Ok, need to get bath ready for babies, MIl was here today to help, so i try to take advantage of it, lol, well she sends me to go do what I need to... and she makes supper.

Binks- I also do that crab walking LOL it used to be sensitive with me too but I think the skin gets used to it.

Maryke- did you see someone is advertizing a full time live in domestic/nanny on the goods and services thread, she said it was her domestic's mother, she has references.

Chris- how's things by you?

My DH is going to re furb my kitchen for me!!!! Sooooo cool, I can't wait! We're going over to a full on gas stove so we don't have to deal with power cuts anymore.

Vix it ok i was lying down doing it really nicely sticking to the sides when Vanya woke up so i had to crab walk to get her so i think it got in that way. It was the blue one and it wasnt while i was using it, it was a few hours afterwards when i had to wee!!!

ah, Binks, both Arwen and Vanya are beautiful! Wow, today Vanya is 1 month, 1 week and 1 day.. all the ones...

Dont have much time, but just wanted to say thanks for all the reflux tips... I am basically doing all of those things. Yesterday Nathan was not sick at all, and I almost posted this morning and then... he was really sick this morning. It seems to be in the morning, so I really think he is drinking too fast, and I might have to express a little in the morning first. He has 3 or 4 spurts of being sick and its really a lot - I dont know who is more sticky afterwards - him or me!

I am so confused as to whether Nathan is just a normal baby, a bit colicy or a bit reflux! All I know, is its tiring! Its getting me down a bit, but I know it will pass (Like Vix says, this aint the most fun time - it gets better!)

Sterretjie, thanks for the name of the Sister, I may have to visit her some time. She sounds lovely! We have a paed and clinic appointment next week, so I'll see how it goes till then. If I can last... our paed is on holiday again (they holiday so good because they charge so good!)

Vix, sorry to hear about your terrible night! We also didnt have a great night, I actually got up and came to the lounge because if I am in the bedroom I just want to lie down and go to sleep... I am trying to keep Nathan upright and its easier in the lounge! I dont have a chair in the bedroom, I wish I had a nice comfy rocking chair...

Maryke, keep meaning to ask how the boys legs are! Bet you cant wait for the casts to be off for good! How much longer?

Sterretjie - really hope things get better every day/night! So all you changed yesterday was adding the mixture to the milk and sleeping at an angle? Wow!

Does anyone know how they treat reflux if you are breast feeding? I have heard it is easier to treat if the baby is bottle fed! I tried to just give Nathan a bit of water earlier, and then after that he had his projectile vomitting eposode - maybe it was wrong of me to try him! Its the very first time he has ever had a bottle stuck in his little mouth - not once in hospital even has he had a bottle - it was just tube feeding and breast! I tried with a curity bottle that I still have from the hospital.

Chris, those bottles you posted about look and sound very good! it may be a winner if you could bget the trips onto them! Do you know the cost of them?

Still battling with getting Nathan to take a dummy. I forgot to get honey when I was out yesterday!!! Silly and forgetful me! Its not easy to just run up to the shops these days, but I may just try a little later... hope our little PnP on the corner has it!!!

Shame, Sarah threw the tv remote at Nathan earlier - he cried big tears! I felt so bad for him, but I dont think she meant it, she really is very loving towards him, but she is also getting some new teeth and its seesm to get worse with each tooth... SUnday she alone had 6 dirty nappies, plus Nathan's 6 makes more than 10 between them... argh!!!

Ster- glad you seem to be finding the cause of Inge's discomfort. The thing with Colic is that you can just drug it to keep it at a low but basically they have to just out grow it. At least if it's silent reflux it's something you can fix. What did she give you to thicken the feeds? Nestargel?

Binks- sorry I forgor to reply to your question yesterday. I think my skin is actually used to the veet but I always use the blue one and I carefully put it on with my finger tips and make sure It doesn't go onto the inside of the vulva. Sorry it burnt you sore!

I noticed the Veet is working well for me again and it wasn't during pregnancy so it must have been the hormones!
