Yvette- congratulations on the birth of your baby girl Emily, I am sure she will bring you and Craig much much joy! Glad she is feeding well!
Ster- thanks for updating us. How are you getting on? Is Inge drinking better now?
Chris- If you can get Alexia to drink on the breast then it will also help to stimulate milk production, the pumping doesn't even come close to the stimulation of baby sucking especially once the hormones kick in, you'll feel this full tingling sensation as your milk flows. My right boob can only produce about 40ml when I pump yet Alex can drink on it for ages even after exoressing there is still so much milk the pump couldn't retrieve. Having your babies. Discharged together has pro's and cons; if you plan to breast feed them all then I say let them be discharged together so that you can be at the hospital to BF them all regulally before discharge, I'm very sad I wasn't able to do that. But on the other hand (especially being a first time mommy) it might be an easier transition to bring them home seperately and get into a little routine one at a time. As sad I was that I could't BF Jono having Alex home first meant that we could all get adjusted to having a newborn in the house again before suddenly it s 2 newborns.
As for the Eglynol, mmmm, I think tranquilizer is probably the wrong word, makes it sound like it'll knock you out. It's a mild anti depressant/relaxer so it'll calm your nerves and the plus side is the milk production but it doesn't make you at all drowsey. Personally I think it's taking the edge off the stress at the moment which is the only way I'm coping. If you don't want to take it right now then just keep up your fluids and even take extra shots of the blackthornberry but I will pass you this little bit of advice; If you find you're battling with milk supply when they leave hospital then give the Eglynol a try before you consider putting them on formula, being prem the best thing for them really is BM. Besides formula for 3 is going to cost you a fortune. Also if you find when you get home with all 3 that things seem a little overwhelming and perhaps stressful try the Eglynol. I am just about keeping the stress levels reasonable and I only have 2 babies and I'm on the Eglynol. I refused to believe with C that an anti depressant would just give me a little help and I left it and left it until eventually at 5m I HAD to do something, as soon as I started on the meds I regained my coping skills. I can't believe how well I'm coping this time and I'm sure it's just the Eglynol calming my nerves.
Binks- I tried to latch Jono again in the afternoon but Alex was awake too and it just became too much, at the moment I need to latch Jono alone and with no pressure on him.
I'm pleased to hear things are progressing and by sat Vanya will be here with us! Xxxx
O.k back to sleep for me now feeding time at the zoo is finished.
