Hi all

Vix - it all sounds so hectic, I sincerely hope that Alex does not have jaundice. Won't be able to fully understand your frustration without experiencing it, so can't say to you, 'konw what you're going through" But am thinking of you and Elwyn and know that you will be able to get through it.

MommyN - hope you and Nathan are well. Hope Nathan is gaining weight and strength.

Yvette - love the pic of you and the 'spit cloth'
Chan- good luck with the scan and the internal - hope the gynea has good news for you. Scary stuff with the contractions last night.

Asp - so with you on the pity party! I feel like crying too.

Lizelle - sorry you're missing you little one so much. soon he will be home.

AFM- only complaints is this terrible reflux! I hate taking Gaviscon, it doesn't help for long, swollen feet, some round ligament pain. My house cleaner has not been for a few weeks and I can't get round to cleaning the house properly. The wind has been terrible in CPT- and the house is full of sand everyday! I have to sweep - but end up with terrible pain from my hip down to my knee on my left side. Woe is me :(
Anyway I'm off to a Occupational Health and Safety recognition ceremony now until 3pm.

Chat later

Ah Vix it'll be ok hunny. Can't they give you the bed of lights to bring home with you and you can put Alex on it at home? I had to do that with Kyra for 3 days at home when she was born.

Vix I feel for you with your mom. Ah it must be so tough for you. But at least she's looking after C for a few hours for you so you can see to your other precious bundle. I know it must be so hard for you but before you know it things will be back to normal. Sending you huge hugs my friend!

Vix to make you feel better - we live on the same property as my mom just in seperate houses. At least yours will go home in a week or two - iv'e got no chance of mine going anywhere! She's always just walking into my house and taking over and taking over with Kyra trying to be her mother. She brings people into our house almost everyday to show them our house etc and it's so f***ing annoying you have no idea. So if anyone's about to murder a parent it's me!

MommyN and Maryke thinking of you!

Asp don't worry about your pity party! We all have them! And I think as we get closer to the end the pity parties happen closer to each other! Hahaha

Lizelle it sounds like your LO is having a ball! I know it's so difficult being away from him. I've only been away from Kyra 6 nights in 8 and a half years!!

Scan is at 4:30 today! Soooo nervous for the internal but also so excited to finally hear what's going on! I had contractions last night! Shoo was getting nervous for a while there but then they went away! Had about 5/6 contractions! Please let my little boy be ready to come out!

So my dilemma today is this..... if baby is engaged and my cervix is softening then my Dr can induce. Now the reason we're thinking of doing this is because my Dr goes on leave next week for 2 weeks and I am in a flat spin about another gynae delivering my baby. I've been with my gynae for the last 10 years and i'd be hysterical if I went into labour and he was on leave. Plus he's worried about the vericose veins from the pressure as well as my swollen feel and backache. But he will want to do an amnio this week to make sure Kades lungs are 100% fine before doing the induction. So basically we can't decide if we should just let it happen naturally and not interfere or do we have the amnio and induce?

Oh Vix, my heart is so extremely sore for you! I wish I could help you. Or atleast send my mum over to you. You would love her. She is so helpful (a bit overbearing) but really really helpful.

Wish I could lessen your "burdens". Is does sound so hard. Thinking of you and praying it gets better.

Last night I threw myself a little pity-party. I want to still do stuff, and then I end up hurting my bump. At the end of the night I bundled up and had a good cry. LOVE being pregnant, hate the part where I can't even help myself anymore. Don't like to be so helpless. BUT this was before I remembered all you lovely ladies you have a much harder time than me.

Chris, Maryke, Vix, MommyN, I am constantly thinking of you guys. And praying it gets easier and all your babies come home soon!

Hi guys,

might not have long before baby wakes up but just wanted to apologize for my lack of communication lately.

I am having a nightmare time with my mother visiting so I'm even considering to drive her 2.5hrs each way home myself just so i can breathe. Won't go in to too much detail because it's actually trivial but she's here to "help" me when actually I am basically just looking after an extra person. I want to get back with my little life of me DH and C with our new additions without everyone Telling me i can't cope. Why do other people feel they have the right to decide if you are coping or not?

I was just telling my other group, the only good thing about having an NICU baby is that you can still get a full nights sleep whilst you recover from the C-sec. The Good thing about having a healthy prem baby is that you don't have to do constant trips to the NICU.

I have the benefits of neither and both at the same time. it's great to have Alex home with me but i am still tired from the night feeds and i still have to try and work out how i can get to the hospital during the day.

The NICU Head sister that's on shift this week is a real strict one and she will allow me to take Alex in but he must stay in the viewing room but on one condition, mommy or daddy is with him at all times whilst the other parent is with Jonathan. Now that doesn't sound too bad does it? except i have a 2 year old who needs to be looked after at home. So basically now I have a decision to make.....

if i want to see Jonathan every day i have to put Alex onto a bottle so DH can feed whilst I'm out which i really really didn't want to do

or

I only go and see Jonathan on the second shift (half a week) when the nice Sister is on duty and lets me leave Alex in the viewing room but i can leave him to sleep in there whilst i stand with Jonathan. The viewing room is secure behind a locked door so it's not like I'm leaving my child to be kidnapped and i can see the door at all times from Jonathan's machines.

I don't really like either option very much, they wanted me to start latching Jonathan on the breast this week but I can't do that and confuse him if it will be on for 3 days off for 4 it's just not fair to him or me.

These are the cons to having one baby in NICU and one at home, at least if they are both in the same place you can make a plan but i have a baby in hospital i need to see alone and a baby who needs to be with me for BF and a 2 year old who isn't allowed within 100ft of the NICU and i don't have family close by.

I can't have my mum stay here for possibly 3 more weeks just to baby sit C for 2hrs a day, i will kill her before then and i don't think prison environment will be very good for the twins to grow up in.

So my life is full of difficult choices and wobbly emotions at the moment so i am not getting much time to check in on Moomie sorry.

Girls if you can keep them legs closed then please do it especially if you have another child at home, it makes life very very difficult if NICU is involved.

MommyN- oh no sounds like you're really having a terrible time having thrombosis as well. I'm pleased to hear Nathan is doing so well though, the photo-therapy lights for the Jaundice work brilliantly, i think Jonathan was under for maybe only 3 days but it makes them look all ugly because their skin gets hot and rashy and dry dry dry. but he's been off for 2 days and the skin is looking better. I hope Nathan will pick up weight fast! it gets de moralizing at first because they loose weight, then gain, then nothing it's like a roller coaster and 5g gains per day feels like you will be there forever. But suddenly one day you'll hear the words " he gained 25g today and you'll be the most excited mommy on the block! I'm sure Nathan will be home for Christmas, he was already a bigger birth weight than Jonathan at 35w and we think there's chance he can come home by Christmas.

Elwyn just phoned me, the nurses at the NICU told my pead that Alex is looking too yellow so now i have to take him in for bloods this morning. Now i just hope they don't re admit him because then i won't be able to see either of my babies more than once a day..................... oh this is so so horrible! It's like I'm being given the chance to bond and then they go and rip my heart open in tiny little pieces, like peeling a plaster off slowly. It's like giving a kid smarties, letting him suck the sugar coating but taking the chocolate center out before he can have chance to enjoy it.

Hi all

Had my babyshower this weekend, got lots of goodies :)

Had to leave my LO @ my mom for the week in CT, but they are having so much fun - i get a bit jealous.
My mom came up with a cute idea of letting him cross out another day every morning on the calender with his crayons as the week gets shorter.
This morning he helped Grandma plant some seeds, splashed the dogs with some water (while suppose to wash of his dirty hands), then started playing with the water and ending up swimming and after that it was nap time @ 13:00. When he woke up, he was riding his scooter a bit and then it was some cartoons and popcorn.
Tomorrow she's taking him to Cape Garden Centre where he wil see a few animals, play @ the kiddies playground and just have some fun.
Cried my eyes out after talking to him last night - my eyes were all puffy today - it was a bit better tonight - but i still miss him alot.
My house are so quiet :(

Vix & Maryke hope you and babies are doing well, seems like it from what i've read today in your posts.

Marie & Chan good luck for your scan tomorrow!!

MommyN hope your little one will be home for Xmas!

Chris & Asp hope your feeling better*

I'm of to bed now, washed my car tonight and now i feel a bit extra tired.
Will talk to you again tomorrow night.

Hope everyone else is doing fine.

Night night*

MommyN, thank you for sharing, really hope you feel better soon, Nathan sounds like such a special little boy already! Reading your story scares me a little :) but in a good way, I just think I must try prepare more than what I have, although I really dont think any amount pf preparation will help deal with lleaving your lo at the hospital. But he is a good weight and Im sure he will be home soon!

Carmen, how are you friend?

Chan, cant wait for your scan tomorrow!! :) I have also had increased discharge, it is terrible, but I have been wearing panty liners since day 1, but even when I go to the loo, and I then walk to our other bathroom (to shower) I can feel it on my leg (sorry tmi), it is gross. But they said I would because of the stitch, but now it is definitely increased.

Yvette, glad you enjoyed your baby shower, you are looking lovely, such a glowing pregnant fairy!

Asp, glad you enjoyed yours too, I also normally think those things are such a bore, some of them are really nice.

Ive been ok, today was feeling a bit down (somewhat), tummy just feeling so heavy and the pressure on my lady is just too much, its freaking sore! babies were kicking me in my ribs in the afternoon, was not fun, eventually when I lay down and had a nap it stopped.

Another girl I have been in contact with had her triplets today, she was 33w, her babies were 1.7, 1.8 and 2.04kg's, I need to try keep babies in another 2 weeks at least.

Hope you all enjoy your evening.

How are all the other ladies?
