once they are bigger and have lots of toys we'll use it like we have for C's toys:

it holds over 300 nappies, 12 packs of wipes and nappy change stuff, all my BF tools and all my maternity pads etc with still lots of space.

Vix that storage is such a good idea!!

MommyN- glad you like the racking, all the pics are on FB so you can see exactly how it goes together, i wanted to put it all up so people can try it because really a long wardrobe is a waste of space for kids.

I agree with Meags, VBAC after 1 C-sec is fine but each new C-sec weakens the uterus further and further so if you're ever gonna have a VBAC it needs to be this time or never.

Yvette - in government we do VBAC's all the time and just keep an extra eye on those who had a previous caesar less than 2 years before.
We do constant fetal monitoring so our mom's cannot move off the bed and they will have a catheter inserted to reduce pressure on the scar.
if they are not progressing or the labour is slow, we do not give them syntocinon (a drug used to make contractions stronger and for induction) as it can over stimulate the uterus which is a risk for a caesar scar. so once they are not progressing, they are booked for a caesar.

I have never witnessed a uterine rupture and as vix said, the chance is less than 1% or something like that. you have more chances of a complication from a 2nd caesar than from a VBAC.

However, saying this, I did hear a tragic story from a midwife a month ago and I'm only sharing it so you have all the facts (not to scare you or discourage the VBAC)

This mom had 2 previous caesars and for the third baby she really wanted a VBAC. her last caesar was 4 years ago so she was considered 'safe'.
she laboured great, everything was fine. but during the pushing stage, the scar must have ruptured (although there were no signs of it...no bleeding...no excessive pain...) and baby was stillborn. Mom then bled excessively once the placenta was delivered and had to have a hysterectomy.
She said this was God's will and she got the VBAC she so desperately wanted and doesnt blame anyone for what happened.

In my opinion, I think VBAC's are safe after 1 caesar. but more than that, I would say rather just stick with the caesar. But since you've only had 1, you are joining hundreds of thousands of mom's who have had successful and beautiful VBAC's.

As for the kidney infection...any sort of infection can put the mom's body into stress and cause pre-term labour. it's almost a way of the body trying to protect the baby from the infection. however, I have never delivered a mom who has had any sort of kidney problem so sorry I cant be more help with that!
