Sorry I've been so quiet lately - things have been hectic with Bryce's birthday last sunday & his party this past saturday - we did Handy Manny and it turned out beautifully!!!! Will post pics on FB

From my side - things are still going well. My EDD is now up to 4 March for now and Riley is doing fine.

My next appointment is on 15 November..... wonder how much he would have grown by then if he's about 480g now?

Morning All

Just quickly had to share the funny thing I heard yesterday afternoon.

I went to book my bed at Wilgers Hospital in Pretoria. And I went to the maternity ward to get my book etc. So the nurse on duty explains everything to me - like where to go should I be in labour etc. And she asks me whether I am having c-sec or natural, but before I can answer she says, oh, it will be c-sec because I see your dr is Dr Niemandt and he ONLY does c-sec.

And I go: NO NATURAL!

So now I am confused. Never heard of a gynae who ONLY does c-sec. Probably prefer to do c-sec, but NO natural, that is just crazy.

I told Dr Niemandt at our first appointment that I want natural and can't remember that he said anything about that not going to happen.

Will just phone his office later and check. My next appointment with him is only on 30 Nov, so it will be long before I will have clarity about this.

Seems I might be looking for a new PRO NATURAL gynae in Dec and Jan

Vix...the one lady I know also had fraternal twins and she walked until 38 weeks and then went for a scheduled c-sec...so that is possible

When are you ladies going to post some nursery pics??? I just read about how you are doing it....now come and show us !!!

I missed the part about the baby names Chris picked out...what is it???

Sorry to hear about the aches and pains. I have been fairly lucky. Inge just feels very heavy in the late afternoons but other than that no real complains. Dead tired at night and sleep like a log only to wake at 02:00 or 04:00 to go to the loo - please can this be the pattern when Inge is here

Maryke - I agree with Yvette. If you could find somebody to help out for the first 6 weeks at least while you are recovering. Would you be able to sleep or are you a light sleeper that might hear the babies cry at night?

Inge's room is 80% finished. We bought paint to touch up the one wall and as true as Bob the colour is different from the original colour. Now we have to repaint the entire room instead of just touching up. Once that is done we only have to put up the wall border and then everything is done. I wasn't very impressed with the paint but anyway what can you do?

I cannot believe that I will be 31 weeks on Friday and about 9 weeks to go. It feels like the other day that I was 9 weeks pregnant and 31 to go

Cannot wait for my gyne apppointment later today. On my way to work this morning I thought - what if the gyne tells us tonight that it is actually a boy? Then he would be wearing a bit of pink now and again. LOL The 4D scan made it quite clear that this is a little girl but just imagine

You guys where is Chris? Hope she is okay???

O, my baby shower is on Saturday - cannot wait!!!!!

I was actually wondering where Chris is? She has been very quiet compared to usual, I hope she is o.k and work wasn't giving her too much sh1t today!

Yvette- I also thought my belly was small considering there are 2 whole babies in there but everyone keeps telling me it's huge. Well I'm still wearing my regular pants and shorts and the longer of my regular tops so can't be that big. Maternity clothes don't fit right they just make me look fat.

Lizelle- looking forward to hearing about your appointment! Love the belly pic, yet another immaculate conception or a DH who can't use the camera? LOL you girls crack me up with your DIY belly pics. I don't ask DH to take pics I tell him it's time LOL

O.k I must say I have been so lucky not to get leg cramps, my aches and pains are minimal except for thw ribs and middle back but now I have been using this back massager even the ribs were better today. I also think being able to do nothing (except run around after my boy of course) has helped, I haven't driven anywhere myself since last week which has been a HUGE bonus!

O.k I'm tired so off to bed now. Goodnight ladies

hey lizelle - love your belly pic! very cute! about the cramps, that is what my chiropracter has suggested me to do. but, i have found that if the cramp is already happening badly, it hurts like shit to try point toes toward me. so i always try to remember as soon as i feel something ocming on, toes upwards! works for me. i used to have terrible ones with cameran where i almost screamed in pain and my calf throbbed for ages afterwards. that was really sore and do not wish that on my worst enemy.

maryke - forgot to say that if you can afford the night help, try and do it, even for only a month while you are physically recovering. it will be very hard on your normal nanny, especially because being awake at night, all night is unnatural to our body systems. my DH is a paramedic and when he works his 3 nights in a row, it takes him 3 days to recover from that. maybe consider leaving her as she is now, and get someone trained in for the evenings. are you bottle or breastfeeding your twins? you can maybe rest and get up for every second feed in the night to check on her and the babies - potential 6 hours straight sleep? are you planning on feeding the babies at the same time, or one at a time? sorry about all the questions! it is really interesting, and because we all have come far in the last 6/7 months and been a support for eachother. i hope you manage to find the right thing that works for you.
