Morning Girls

Oh Vix, I am so happy to hear that things are going so well with the twins. And that they are growing so nicely. What are their weights more or less, or don't you have them? I am just interested as this is my first experience up close & personal with twins. And yes, I like your dr as well. I haven't really (in my short 2 years of gynaes) come across a dr who actually "encourages" natural birth. I have to just put my foot down each time and tell them it is natural or no baby is coming out  - given there is no complecations. And wow, 4 weeks! How are you feeling? Alittle afraid of having 3 LB's, or are you still managing? I have these sudden urges when I think, shit, what have I done? Wondering if you guys get that aswell?

How is everyone else doing? Hope all had a relaxing weekend?

So, I have been getting the WORST leg cramps ever! First time in years. Didn't have them with my previous pregnancy, although I know they are common. My left lower leg started cramping Sunday morning at 04h00 and we couldn't get it to stop. I was in tears. I just couldn't handle the pain. Now my legs go numb and then I start feeling both of my leg muscles starting to pull, even when I am sitting.

Don't know what to do. I am struggling to walk properly.

What vitamins will help? I drink my PREGNAVIT and also calcium as the gynae "ordered" them, but now it seems I am lacking something?

Any help appreciated

Oh, and as my leg was cramping and I was yelling at Hubby for help, I actually became really afraid of natural birth! I had these flashbacks of the pain and shit, don't know if I am up for it again. But also, while I was reading Vix's post, I fully agree regarding the pro's and con's of c-sec. So, guess I need to order the Hypnobirthing book and see if there is something that can help me through this!

Okay, so on the UP SIDE: my LG has started walking. Only about 4 steps at a time, and obviously as soon as I put the camera down! But I am such a proud mommy...and also so sad. You first timers better believe it when someone tells you they grow up fast!

Awesome news Vix - so glad tweenie 2 caught up! Rhesus rejection sounds like a plausible explanation.

Sorry I'm 'late' LOL hectic day of seeing Dr's, first me then my son so no spare time today at all!

The Tweenies have caught back up to their regular growth patterns Tweenie1 being 30w and Tweenie 2 being 29w. Remember tweenie 2 was concieved 6 days after tweenie 1 so that's the difference it should be. Dr says I should just try to take it easy, both heads are under my right ribcage, can you bloody believe it, hence the terrible agony I have been in. I feel like a huge weight off my shoulders with the news of tweenies growth. Dr said it could possibly have been that tweenie 2 was struggling to get enough nourishment due to the Rhesus disease (what I had the injection for) and because my body was trying to fight off the 'foreign' twin twin 1 was able to get all the nourishment but it's all speculation until we know the blood group of the babies after the birth but if we have no more serious sudden growth deviations that is his bet for the cause. I asked if I should rather be buying the wayyyyy more expensive preg omega plus and he said if I want to because the omega 3's will always be a good thing but it's not essential, it won't directly affect the physical growth of the twins as such.

Thanks to everyone for all your support, well wishes and thoughts over the past 2 weeks and especially today. Without you gals I would most certainly have gone mad by now!

Everyone keeps asking when I'm being booked in for the op but that's another thing I adore about my gynae, he will never book the date more than a few days in advance. His way is to rather monitor well being every few days and try and give babies every extra day inside possible without too much risk. I love that because so many Dr's book C-secs earlier than needed.

I am planning on anything from 34-36w gestation just to be safe so yes I realistically have 4w weeks left of being pregnant EVER again but I'm not sad about that by any means. I like being pregnant, it's an experience for sure but I certainly don't 'love' it. It's a means to an end and that end is my big brood of boys. It's like the newborn thing, no I don't adore newborns at all! I love this toddler stage and the first 18m are just a way of getting to that nice phase. Besides my body couldn't cope with this again, it's quite broken this time around.

Maryke- oh hun, you really do sound sore, and your C-sec scar is so old already it shouldn't cause you too much pain but maybe because the heads are down low. I find people presume the kicking is the wrst bit but actually the pressure of 2 big solid heads is enough to have me in tears, the leg kicks are just a bit weird.

I have no issues with anyone who feels they need a domestic helper, so many people do even without kids but I just don't like the idea for myself. My DH is very good and will even do the house work when I struggle. I might give my ironing to my SIL's maid towards the end or when I come out of hospital but otherwise I will do what I can manage and the rest can wait til I'm coping better. Even if I really wanted a full time domestic or nanny I couldn't afford one so I must just get on with it, it is what it is!

Yvette- sounds like a great plan packing up and closing down the work brain for a while! But will you be able to stay in touch with us still?

MommyN- C never turned head down til 37w so don't stress, baba Tu still has lots of time before you have to consider a C-sec.

Chan- if you're so scared of a C-sec then that's GREAT LOL sounds odd but really I believe if you absolutely only want a natural birth you will have a good birth. It's 99% about mindset and because C-sec is so accessable here a woman has to fight with her mind over what she really does want!

A C-sec is a pain free birth but a very difficult and long recovery process in comparrisson to natural birth. Given a choice I would rather have a painful birth and heal quicker so I can care for my child easier than a pain free birth and 2 weeks of partial disablement during recovery. I believe a lot of C-sec mommies are too quick to tell everyone C-secs are 'beautiful' experiences! I had a good C-sec but it was by no means easy nor the perfect option.

Hi Ladies

Sjoe I am really in pain today expecially there where my c-sec scar is I can barely walk. I had such bad heartburn last night all thanks to a peanut butter sandwich I had on tuesday it actually made me vomit sorry tmi...

Yvette lucky for me the guys here know what I do so I don't have to hand anything over...

Marie glad you getting the rooms sorted

Vix I know how you feel about helpers but just had to post this, the lady that was lying in hospital next to me when I was there end september had her twins they are a month old today, she sms me last night and she is in a state she says she is not coping at all they take strain at night that they are actually looking for a night helper they also have another toddler just like us so I am getting little bit paranoid about the new arrivals (pls don't be cross with me I really know how you feel about it)

chan how's your big girl doing on her new meds now?

MommyN I bought the october your pregnancy book yesterday and in there they had a thing about how to get baby to move headdown maybe get the book, o yes about the Pnp home shopping I tried that last month what a disaster I said to hubby never again, if they don't have stock of what you ordered they give you something else, like I ordered pork tjops they didn't have so they sent me lamb tjops yuk we don't even eat that if they don't have the washing powder you use they will give you what's closest to that price range I was very flipped out and it took me 3hrs on the internet to shop then if they deliver on a saturday you sit and wait cause they don't have specified delivery times or in the week nope not me again

We won't mind a private room but hubby stresses me out to much if he is there and besides he doesn't like hospitals so it will be so annoying if he does stay

Chris your boss also sounds like a real dweeb...

Thanks MommyN - I will try those places.

ChanM - Thashreya would have a problem if both her dad and I were not around. I wouldn't want her to feel left out. When i was in hospital earlier this year, it helped that DH was at home with her especially at night. She knew that I was in hospital and would be home soon.
