Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

Hi all, thanks for all Riaan's b'day wishes.

When Riaan was a baby, i started giving him his cereal @ 3½months (one of my friends did it - so i thought why not try), he wanted more than just one spoon so he started with 2.
Kayden is now 14weeks tomorrow and my Pead said to me when we went for the 6weeks injection - that i can start now from about 3months, early days they only started giving them from about 6months and he now feels for development and so they can start early.
DH bought the Cerelac (regular) so gonna try this tonight, maybe she will start to sleep trough at night if tummy is fuller.
I'm not sure for how long i gave cereal before i started giving veggies (purity) 2weeks/month?
And for feeding position - i didn't have a feeding chair so he sat in his little car seat - the snug and safe or somtimes loved lying on a pillow up strait a bit and eat and after that had his bottle.

Everything feels topsy turvy now but it will sort it self out (life is like a pimple it grows grows grows you squeeze squeeze squeeze it grows even more and then when it burst all the yukkieness comes out but then after that it heals nicely) sorry I know not the best why of expressing myself but hell it sure sounds like how it happens in life........

Dassie, they always say start with porridge why I can't seem to think of now ladies please help and then when they take kindly to it then slowly add veg, but I have been doing everything different with the boys out of pure lazyness so sorry I will just be giving dof advice

Carmen Dassie I tried the sleep training with Llewellyn and he has been sleeping through since last week monday so I don't want to jinx this but yippeeee..... some people don't like sleep training and it can become a hot topic on moomie so not even going to discuss how I trained him now just to train Aiden and I will be a for a way...

My day was fantastic, I got my blackberry or as I call it my grapeberry or purpleberry and had a wonderful day with all the moms and family

It's moms weekend of this comming weekend WOOOOOHOOOOOOO and nope I don't feel guilty at all (ag ok just a little bit but very little) Friday at 12 I will be out of here and only back Sunday afternoon BREAK HERE I COME HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!!!!!

Oh I wanted some advice.

I was thinking of starting solids at 4 months. My boy already doubled his birth weight and he can sit nicely supported. Or is it too early?

Should I start with cereal? I really wanted to start with veggies though and skip the cereal, would that be okay?

And how do you feed your babies? Should I get a feeding chair or prop him up on the couch?

Dassie - M will be three months in 2 days time. I have the wrap and carry her strapped to me ok to walk with her , but to cook and clean is a strain on my back!
I was thinking of getting a swing or rocker. Yes it's the motion and vantage point they like. She's so inquisitive. Little busy body - nosey parker!

Thanks for your advice bout giving the meds. My baby is finally taking it nicely. Still have bad days with reflux but will see how he does on meds.

Carmen- lol my boy does the same. I must carry him all the time. He is just over 3 months and just wants to see what's happening everywhere! If I sit he starts crying. Maybe you can get one of those baby carrier things? I've got a rocking chair which helps sometimes, he likes the motion of it.

Been reading your posts on my phone but been unable to post

Mishka wants to be on the arm all the time!! And she wants you to stand and walk about! She will only allow one to sit a little then starts moaning and crying, once you get up and walk she settles! I'm at my wits end because I can't get anything done! she doesn't take daytime naps, only if I'm held will she nap longer. at night if she falls asleep she does have a longer sleep of 5-6 hours then feeds then 2-3 hour sleep. she fights falling asleep. we battle every night- Sometimes until 10pm.

I'm sick as a dog - not nice. At least Kayden is now taking the bottle - i still give her breast milk - so have to express my milk, but at night i put her to the breast - easier. Gonna go on with the breast milk for about another week and then gradually try the Nan inbetween, so that she could be fully onto Nan when i start to work in 3 weeks , don't wanna go back - want to be with baba, but i'm tired fo sitting at home all the time.
Kayden is asleep now, gonna try closing my eyes for a while- not feeling to good.
