Yay for only 2 more weels in casts that's fantastic news!

Kayden drank 80ml now, after it took me 30min, but not giving up.

She was a bit more calm also and she wants to sit in her pram if i hold her in my arms, she gets all moody and starts to kick and cry.
Anyway first 20ml went well, then played with the teet for 15min (got a wind out), played with it then drank 40ml, played with the teet for another 10min and then drank the last 20ml...without mom giving up and keeping that teet in the mouth. Then seemed more hungry and gave her some breast.
I think she just needs to get use to the teet idea, and it already seems to be getting better. Just got to pull trough and not give up. Take it day by day. She relises that im not giving up. Either she takes it or go hungry - not that i would do that, lol..

It is the first day officially and i think she's done well. Think after 2 weeks this struggle will be all over.

Maryke so glad it's their last casts!!! And they are growing so nicely wow!! Can't believe some of you girls babies is already 6months!

For the b'day get-together where are you all gonna meet?

The boys got there last casts yesterday they are so short just above the ankle it looks so weird, so the cast come of on the 17 May so 2 weeks and not 3 woooohoooooooooo I weighed the boys and Aiden is a wopping 6.6kg and Llewellyn 5.8kg

Vix Mandz Frances-jane still had an inbetween feed up to 7m when she just left it never knew about the 6m mark Aiden will wake up anything between 11.30 and 12.30 then I give dummy 20min later crying again give bottle dead happy but then he only drinks about 60mls an he is fast a sleep do you think I should rather offer a bit of water? Llewellyn wakes up anything from 12-1 but he drinks a full bottle and then they both will wake at about 5.30 for another bottle and will sleep futher till about 6 or 7?

Lizelle glad you enjoyed your day - on the bottle front I can't help I had no problem with switching of bottles

manz glad the wedding was great can't wait to see some pics

I asked the boys surgeon about walking rings and she says she is ok with the boys using them but under supervision (head injuries) to help with the muchle strength in the boys legs so a plus for the walker llewellyn got his own one yesterday....

I actually went to casualties yesterday to get cheap strong drugs from the doc and ended up getting Sters doc at the mulbarton what a disaster but got the meds and seems like we all doing ok today Frances-Jane slept from 5 yesterday afternoon till 6.30 this morning felt so sorry for her

How does November 12th sound for our bubs birthday get-together?

I'm giving this bottle some more time, i believe she just got to get use to the form of the teet and where to place it on her tonge, she gets a bit angry, but patience i have to have now.

Little Riaan drank from the Breast since birth and i gave him bottle (Avent) from about 2weeks during the day and breast at night till about 6months. Tried Nuk for one day with him to see if the winds get any better, but it just got worst casue his mouth wanted to be round like the avent teet and the Nuk was flat. So he stayed on Avent.
So by trying differnt bottles/teets to soon on her will only confuse her i know. But want to get hold of some different ones, that i can just try for a second just to see what she prefers if i see that the Avent is no use after a few days.
I also think if she could drink 60ml why can't she drink the rest.

Vix just saw your post now, i've tried rubbing against the roof of the mouth and will continue doing that and tried to put it in far. She screams, but that's the only way she is going to notice this thing i need to suck, i calm her once a while and then trying again. PATIENCE even if she screams - got to do this.

Lizelle- i agree with Mandz, if Kayden was going to have trouble drinking because of the shape of her tongue she would've struggled at the breast as well.

try touching the teat on the roof of her mouth as you put it in because that should stimulate the sucking reflex, we had to do that with Jono in the early days while he was in NICU. also don't be afraid to push the teat in far, remember they can suck the soft breast all the way back into their mouth. She will adjust in time I'm sure, i know Binks was also having issues getting Vanya onto the bottle.
