Hi ladies,

Ster- Inge is adorable! Glad the whole work routine isn't going too bad for you!

Maryke- Sorry you had to cut your holiday short but wow so pleased it's nearly time for the boys to be cast free, that's really going to be wonderful.

I think I'll be lucky if my boys are 5 & 6kg to be honest, Jono was still only 4.5 a few weeks back.

MiksMommy- wow looks like Wian is going to be tall, @ 16w C was also 7.2kg but only 61cm and even now the Dr comments what a BIG 2 year old he is.

Suhaila- I hope Aaqil's tummy gets better poor little man.

Thanks for asking about me and C, he's been 100% since that day, he loves me to come play and take him to the toilet and he's trying to feed the babies now, that's interesting LOL

I can feel a tooth starting to cut on Alex's gum, man I can't believe it already :-(

I had Jono on the isomil for 10days so I decided to try re introducing the lactogen to see if it really was a milk allergy or if it was just a stomach bug and within 24hrs he had a watery tummy even just on half isomil half lactogen so I can safely say it's the milk :-( I really didn't want it to be a milk allergy, it can lead to so many other allergies grrrrr

Mandz- sounds like you enjoyed the wedding from your FB status

Dassie- I used Losec wirth my first born but I can't say it helped, certainly didn't stop the constant projectile vomiting. In all honesty nothing stopped it, he just outgrew it about 9m old. The nurofen syringe comes with the bottle of nurofen for children, they're great, I use them for everything. The trick wirth any meds is to get the syringe as far back in the mouth as possible so the meds go straight down. Taste receptors are on the tongues so if you can avoid them as much as possible it should be fine, you must remember aswell that for drinking they push the tongue forward so it's a natural reaction to 'spit' the meds out so just avoid the tongue all together.

Maryke- my boys bath about 6:30/7 then drink 150ml and sleep through til about 5am I give another bottle then and they'll last another 3 hrs. They eat 3 meals a day porridge breakfast, veggi lunch and usually porridge dinner but I'm slowly changing it to veggi dinner too. They eat in between bottles so drink at 4pm then eat at 5pm.

O.k babies crying gotta go

Thanks guys! I will go look for that nurofen syringes. I have a medicine dropper and finding it difficult to give meds like that.

I really hope the Losec helps. My boy is vomiting quite a lot and I'm worried he will start losing weight.. :(

hi everyone, not much time right now, one hand typing while i feed, naughty i know!

just wanted to comment for Dassie- nathan has been on losec for a week now. no real major side effects, i've just noticed his pooh's are more mushy - they were very watery until now, he is exclusively breastfed. but he is 5 months now, so could just be normal changes.

i use the nurofen syringes - they are awesome! have a stock bec nurofen seems to work best for my lg.

i break the tablet in half (not always easy) and then pop it into syringe and then "suck" up about 1ml water and leave it for a few minutes (do something and come back). then shake and give to nathan.

i find if he is on my lap, its easiest. also if he is "crying" or "moaning" its actually easier - then he cant spit out. with any medicines, the first few days are hardest for both you and baby, but it gets easier. my lg was the same and now she takes any medicine or vitamins so well. of course with a baby, patience is needed.

after giving the 1ml with tablet, i suck up some more water from a little dish (about 1ml again) and swish around and give that and then breast feed.

it seems to be helping a bit - no over night miracles - but i am also giving a antiacid. i have also found he is burping better - he never had major winds (breastfeeding has helped), and his poops and poohs are not so explosive anymore.

let us know how it goes.

ok, feeding and typing not working... will log on later again to do personals - sorry !

Hey Dassie

Congrats on the birth of your lb!!

I know Losec has worked for many ladies, and not for some, I unfortunately am one of those that it hasnt worked for, but you still need to use it if it could ver well work for your lb.

I would dissolve it in like 1ml of water so that there would be less to squirt in their mouth with a syringe, but my lg also spits out, but had less chance of doing so with less liquid, also if you lb takes to his dummy, have it in hand to give him straight after you have given the losec that he can suck his dummy, he'll swallow the losec. What you can also do is put a bit of milk in it after dissolving, I just found that with the syring some of the powder would get stuck so I would have to give it a bit of a swirl or shake before each squirt.

I didnt notice any side effects though.

Hope your lb gets better with the reflux and hope to hear from you again!

Lizelle, hope you enjoyed yoru "treat" day, enjoy CT!

Hi everyone else!

Hi ladies

Sorry to just bud into this thread like this. Have been reading it for a long time, my baby boy was born in Jan.

I need some advice regarding Losec for reflux. I know some of you used it.

I know I must dissolve it in water and give with a syringe, but its so difficult because my boy just keeps spitting it out. Any tips?

Also what are your experiences with Losec? Does it help? Any side-effects?

Thanks in advance!
