mandz - i LOVE what you said about the BF. i TRULY believe BF is child-dependent. i battled with cameran and tongue tie too. ashley was not so successful and was a relief to put on a bottle at 3 months. with emmi on the other hand, its pure joy. its nothing that i have done wrong or differently, it is really the child that made the difference. meags, watch now, your next kid you'll batlle to get off the boobie!

meags, pls don't stress too much. i remember very claerly while BF ashley that i felt like a failure because she didn;t gain weight too well for a month and that she seemed to love the bottle more than me. it was heartwrenching and only a mommy who has been in that situation with such a strong desire to BF will know what its like. your strength and committment to BF is outstanding. did you try glycerine or something like that on your boobie?

ashley had RSV, pneumonia, double ear infection. poor kid. she is much better but still pale and very tired. i hope emmi doesn;t get too. but of she does, i know the symptoms!

guys i have to go bath. it so cold and i need to warm up.

Meags, I have been following your BF story....have you ever tried lying on your back with him on your tummy and see if he latches? Sometimes the position is the real problem. With saying that, Im no expert but I know you must probably be willing to try anything.

Maryke, my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry, I can only hope you wil find peace in your fathers passing. What a week, a close friend's father also passed away, ok he was already 90, but it was very sudden and it brought back a flood of memories for me. I lost my dad in 2008, my dad just passed away in his sleep. Peaceful yes, but such a shock especially for my mom and me. Not a day goes by where I dont think of him and miss him! I hope your Dad's good memories will forever live in your heart! Hugs and strongs. Always here if u need to talk! xxx

Chris - saw your post on the cereal into the bottles. My only advise I am willing to give is maybe check with your paed? That said, I am very weary to start solids too early, but I did walk down the isle in the shop on thursday and almost bought cereal in desperation to try with Nathan! Am sure you have a had a special Easter!

Sarah had her first real Easter this year. Last year she was too young for chocs. She's had a ball, its just all over so quickly!

All the new mommies - not sure if know much about me... I am living in Pretoria, 2 kids, Sarah and Nathan 5 (almost) months old. Nathan was born at 33 weeks, so its been an up and down ride. But worth it.

AFM, we've had some better times since Nathan is on the Losec and stuff for the reflux. am so hoping its all helos! He really is miserable so much. I cant believe it, Sarah is also a bit better. I also ended up getting some homeopathic stuff. The guy recommended something fro shocl for all of us, so I mix up a few different things every morning, and Sarah, Nathan and I take it as often as I can remember! Its like a pharmacy chest on my kitchen counter! I am also giving some tissue salts a try.

Oh yes, DH surprised me on thursday and booked us a little trip away - monday 2nd may we are off to Natal for 5 or so nights. A colleague/friend of his owns a B&B in Pinetown, not on the sea but close enough! I really miss the sea since moving back to SA. We lived on the sea in Dar, our house was 50m away from the beach front! Cant wait - really, he does surprise me sometimes!

Ok, what else? My internet and laptop are playing up, so sorry I cant do more personals now! Will come back later or as soon as I can again!

Meags my heart breaks for you! You have tried everything you can, and it is so hard to have a BF attempt like that Did the lady contact you? Maybe you get babies that dig BF and some that just dont? Really, don't beat yourself up about it. Some moms say all moms can BF but each situation is different, and your case M just doesnt want to play along, and I mean you express!Thats perseverance right there! Let us know Meags....

So i went to buy "Living & Loving" yesterday and who do i see?, MommyN (Nathalie) and Vix - this was a surprise (some familiar faces hey ) - was looking for Chris and the Trio - Thought they we're gonna be in the issue? Anyway well done! Vix it was so weird reading that article, was like...i've read this before!! - only because you told us the experience before
I'm so proud of you girls!
