Karienh, edible undies, LOL . Gave me a good laugh there. Must say, I bought my hospital bag from Unitas and saw these 2 rectangular pieces of rug (mmm, that sound wrong, stukke lap) (I thought). Turned out to be disposible panties, but really, do they expect me to wear that?

For the ladies who talked about UIF, I made use of ABC of UIF: www.abcofuif.co.za/index.php. I was really impressed with the way they handled it, and they have less volume as they are not that well known. I am using them again, for sure. Solo, I hear what you say about being able to survive on what they give you... The first time I ended up with R30 000 debt and that was with payment leave for my 2 loans. That is something I can suggest, asking the bank for a few months payment leave. Sometimes there is interest, but it makes the remaining payments only a little more.

Philipajane, I know what you mean with the feet killing you... The extra weight is what gets me most.

Oh ladies, I have some very sad news. MsDee held her 33 year old sister as she took her last breath - she lost her battle with stomach cancer last night. They will lay her to rest at 15:00 today. MsDee asks that you all pray for her and her family.

Pls send condolence messages as a private message. She says she will be here reading our updates but will be quiet on the thread for a while. I'm crying so hard now I can hardly type this.

Just be careful to dissmiss the foul smell as being normal without considering other causes, because I read last night that a foul smell can indicate an infection. I actually do not remember a foul smell from the first time, but I know people are different. I think it is best to have it checked out if you are concerned. Betty_F, surf board pads, LOL!!! I put 2 packs in my hospital bag and now there is almost no space for the rest of my stuff...

Mornings

Jay, spent my first money on goodies for my baby boy! Got a new matres for the cot (Mr. Price Home), a 6pack pigeon wipes (dischem R90 - used with both my other kids) and a very cool hooded towel and matching facecloths (pnp - R55 and R22). Oh, and got us some lovely pillows from edgars for R150 each. The cheap ones I have is so thin. These have a 5y garuntee, and they are nice and heavy!

Last day of the weekend. Damn! Family day - gotta go get some wood and do a braai!

Aah yes the surf board pads! They are most uncomfortable. But you do bleed a lot. I would buy a pack to use in hospital. They are very thick! The disposable panties I did buy with my first pregnancy. I did use it- but probably could have done with out them. Although it was nice not to have to take bloody panties home.

Is everyone having a wonderful week- end? Slept like a log last night.... For a change....baby is still moving around like anything, guess there is still a lot of space for her to move around which is good. I'm going to start working on the UIF this week...

Just a tip. I only used maternity pads in hospital, and I never used the disposable undies. You just have to change the pad regularly. The first couple of hours after a csection, you are on your back, with the sister cleaning you up. When you get up you shower and get rid of any blood on the outside. I only leaked once or twice. And there is no blood salt and cold water cant take out.
