Hi everyone. The move is going. We're halfway moved in and halfway packed. Have to go do the rest of the packing today. But we slept in our new house in our gorgeous bedroom, the only room in the house that it packed out and it was lovely.

I don't have time for personals but have a question that just occured to me. In all the hospital bag lists they say you must pack maternity pads and disposable underwear. Now this might be a silly question, but why do you need them and wear on earth do you buy them.

When I think disposable underwear I think edeble underweae and somehow I don't think that's what the have in mind

...

Haha philipajane - and here I am again. But I normally don' t stay up that late, I either wake up at an ungodly hour for the toilet run and can't go back to sleep or I fall asleep very early in front of the Telly and then when I wake up during the night to go to my bed- then I am wide awake! All in preparation for the nightly feeds that I will soon me giving!

Esmari - I envy you living in a most beautiful part of the Western Cape!
I agree that the agent should give you notice when brining people to view the house. If no notice given then I would not stress about the house not being 100% tidy. But I certainly would be aggravated.

Karien- good luck with the move, hope it all goes well. We also moved during my first pregnancy. Try not to get too stressed and please leave all the heavy lifting to the non pregnant,.. Great on the salary increase...so helpful with baby on the way.

Rakker. I hope that baby will stay in as long as possible. I have heard about the placenta calsifying, and also know a lady who was advised to be enduced before her EDD because of the problem. The placenta is gross, the sister showed us one at the antenatal classes I attended with first baba.

Philipa- re UIF, if your work pay you, aren't you supposed to disclose it to the uif and then they decrease shat the will give you anyhow? I guess if the work top u up after you return from maternity leave then there is no need to disclose it.
Glad you found a great hospital and that you have a choice.
I have gained 6 kg now......oh well.. Feeling big now

Shame Esmari. With me it was so much different as my LB didn't need any medical assistance at all. He did weigh 3.02, which helped. So I can deffinitely understand your caution. Good luck with the last few weeks of getting enough action to make up for the last part of abstenance .

Betty_F, it's always a guessing game. They say that if your first was born prem, the chances of the 2nd being prem is bigger. And then there is the age factor... Higher maternal age has a higher risk of preterm labour. And with my son the placenta had a lot of calcification, so much that the gynae felt the need to show the placenta to me after delivering it, ugh. So I think it is better that I am prepared. The nursery is far from ready, but it really only involves getting stuff out and painting the room. Clothes and stuff that I have already washed and in the cupboard.

Karienh, it was also a shock to me when my LB was born a day before 35 weeks. I thought I would get everything ready when I reach 35 weeks... Luckily I had the most important things and could manage well. We did have to figure out the camping cot and the car seat and the pram and and and, on the day we went home, which wasn't fun.

lol esmari. My house is such a mess that I don't know what I'm going to do if someone wants to come look at it. Nobody will rent it the way it looks now. Congrats on the house - I hope you'll be really happy in George.

Rakker, I'm so stressed now after you said you might have your baby in your arms in 5 weeks. I'm only 26 weeks, but not even close to ready and I keep thinking that there's still lots of time and I just realised now that there's not that much time left....but it will be exciting to actually meet our babies

AFM: Dh is finishing cleaning our new place and then it will be ready to be moved into. It looks GREAT! I need to do some serious packing because we're moving the big stuff tomorrow afternoon, but I'm just too tired. I've been working really hard for more that a week now and I think my pregnancy has finally caught up with me. So I'm taking it a lot slower and poor DH have to do more (as if he doesn't have enough to do)
We also had fantastic news today - DH got a 15% raise - which is perfect with our new place and baby - at least we'll have a bit of extra money.

Solo, love your bump- it's going to get so big in the next few weeks! Enjoy it!
