Absolutely love it!

I like the saying"we're pregnant!" WTF? I'm pregnant not YOU!

Needless to say, my DH always defended me when people said "We're pregnant". Maybe he knew not to cross this pregnant ice-queen  :silly:

To prove that when you are a mom THE BUCK STOPS SQUARELY WITH YOU...

Example1 (based on a true life story): Nanny off for the weekend, baby refusing to sleep, DH out with friends oblivious to the fact that nanny is off for the weekend  . Finally, exhausted after a looooong day with baby who was refusing to take her naps cos mommy inevitably messes with her carefully crafted schedule, sms DH to say "I need help with the baby." His response? : "ndithini mna?" which translated means "So? what must I do about that?"

Example2:(also based on a true life story): Nanny goes AWOL over the December holidays. DH partying all day everyday as we used to do TOGETHER over December holidays before I (note, I,not we) became a parent oblivious to the fact that nanny has gone AWOL. Complains that I mustn't complain about his precious daughter and how much I also want to relax and have some fun cos I am making it sound like she is a burden yet "we" knew the implications when "we" decided to become parents....ggggrrrrrrr

Let's just say our marriage (& HIS LIFE) was hanging by a very thin, very frayed, thread

OMW I love this post

1st Baby-Fell preggies while still completing B-Tech,with the nausea of 1st trimester mmmm I did not make it.I even failed an open book exam   .In that time only can eat tomato and vinigar. The small cramps run to the dr to be sent back that the uteras was just stretching. To top it all no one is saying anything and stupidly you think baby comes at 9mnths so that counting to find that it is not really truth there is 41-42 weeks added ;) Paranoial is the common factor for 1st time moms and busy exhausting medical aid funds unnecessary. You eat according to the prescribed book,I remember I had a brown rice etc.only cooked with olive oil   bought each and everything that baby didn't use still today.2nd and 3rd trimester smooth sailing, gotta wait for baby who made an apperance at 41 weeks :woohoo: .2nd day came back with baby after a natural and a vjj stitch which you cannot sit up straight yet you are forced because you have to breastfeed. The drugs given ti help the pain take their platform and you have a stiff, painful butt and cannot sit nor walk for 2 weeks.Luckily DH took partenal leave and would wake up and change LG's nappies and give the expessed milk.Good old days

I agree with RM on treatment you get from 1st baby....
2nd baby-when I had nausea DH would not even run after me nor care at all.Cravings are not entertained,I always here that I am an attension seeker.2nd trimester was not bad and now in 3rd trimester with all the diziness and backaches I get these day, even a mere massage is luxury to have,I get NONE.Only thing I still get is accompanying to dr's appointments other than that NOTHING.As for caring for LG I to do it,carry her etc.RM where were you to tell me that with 2nd baby it is all different.I won't be opting for 3rd after the trauma DH had put me through no thanks. So I guess I will be alone in the labour room this time around, will do nightshifts by myself and will have to deal with all by myself.

Thanks RM!!! Loooove my trophy!By the way, you are my inspiration for being quirkily(is that a word?) honest about the "joys" of motherhood, i love love love your sense of humor & honesty!

I have a close friend who is 4 months preggy and I often have to bite my tongue cos as much as I want to prepare her and shower her with my HARD LEARNED pearls of wisdom, I don't want to burst her little "bright-eyed-bushy-tailed; can't-wait-to-meet-my-little-angel" bubble. hhhhmmmmm....she is in for the shock of her life and I am powerless to help her/ prepare her.

Elamsmom - Oh my heavens, I need to stop myself from saying "right on sister" as I am not black enough to carry off that phrase without looking like a total twat.

But I do think you need a trophy for that post!!!

I abhor smiley face icons. Just saying.
