thank you ladies, i think that deep down I knew how impractical cute outfits are for new-borns. its amazing how you get taken in by all the marketing !!!!

MommyN, I cant wait for that time to play dressy dressy with them your daughter reminds of my niece who is 2 yrs old. She refuses to repeat pyjamas if they are not washed, I asked her the other day how she can tell that they are not washed - she said from the smell,if they are not washed they have the sleep smell she said and if they are washed they have the flower smell (fabric softner, i assume)

thats girl children for you !!

Also not a multiple mom, but I agree with Simone - those cute outfits are so unpractical. Maybe get some nicer baby gro's - Woolies and Edgars have some nice ones, or else if you can splash out, Earth Child or Kidcoo (?). But really, they sleep most of the time, and the other time you are feeding or burping. DH hated it when my LG didnt have a babygo on, he said then he couldnt pat her back! And the cute dresses are too loose fitting and end up scratching their necks. Babygros are soft and easy to change. As well as snug and warm.

I had 2 "special and extra nice" outfits for coming home from hospital (which neither of my kids wore because they were so small when coming home) and then I had 2 special outfits for special days or when visiting out. " is more than enough.

Anyway, with 2 girls, Hapi, you will have so much time to dress them up! My LG, 21 months now, is on her 4th outfit for the day and playing outside in her good shoes and clothes! We've been through 6 pairs of socks today alone! (yes, 6, she refuses to put them back on if they are not washed!).

Hapi, start saving because girls are expensive!

You are gonna love your girls! :-)

hapi I am not a twin mommy...but honestly...DONT GET THE CUTE OUTFITS! Its a real waste of time. Shame they are so small at that stage...just comfy in nice baby grows and a blanket and they're good for the first 3 months. After that get some cute outfits.

I had a lg...and I remember she was about 6w old and I put on a cute pants and top...ag shame it was so uncomfortable for her little body and somebody actually commented saying: mummy why are you so in a hurry to dress up this small child? I felt kinda crappy:( Wont make that mistake with no.2 no matter how cute the outfits.

Get lots of babygrows- ackermans is good you'll probably need their tiny baby size. Don't get the cute outfits now- they grow so quickly- some of the outfits they did not even get to wear. And get lots of vests- must be easy to pull over their heads- found the sleeveless ones the best and cheap leggings (they sell them for R11 at jet). If you want cute babygrows get some from pumpkin patch- good quality and easy to put on. Don't buy shoes either.

hi there Mommies of Mulitples

Quick question :

Im finalising our hospital bags. Of the few things that I still need to buy is 4-6 outfits for the girls when in hospital.

I saw cute leggings sets and corduroy (sp?) dress sets for 0-3 month olds. everyone is discouraging me from buying them as they say that they are a waste as the babies will be swaddled most of the time and no one really gets to see the cute outfits. so the advise is that play/sleepsuits are the better option.

I just want to know how you dressed your little ones when they were new borns.

I really wantt them to look cute.
