My boys name is Lesego (Lucky) Mpho (gift)

Mpho because when I got married my in laws called me Mampho.

Lesego chosen by both daddy and me because we felt that this baby was one lucky baby whose grandparents dropped subtle hints way before he was conceived. We knew that he would be received very well. And do we have problems getting people to stop kissing him :(

We waged the name war for many months, DH wasn't bothered by meaning, but I was. My family is Afrikaans so it had to be a name that they could not mess-up (which was a bit of a challenge).
Eventually we agreed on Tristan, which means 'bold'.
I just fell in love with the name.

Before my little boy was born we settled with the name Warwick Lior, Warwick a name that we both liked (and daddy's name being Warren)Lior meaning "my light". Knowing that he would be born with Trisomy 18 I want a second name with a special meaning. The night he was born and told he would not live longer than an hour, daddy changed his name to Lior and he definately has been MY LITTLE LIGHT :)

Thats a beautiful Meaning Vamo!

My daughter's name is Kamilah. DH and I have families from different faiths. His family is Christian and mine is Muslim so we were trying to find a name that is Arabic but still can be pronounced easily by my in-laws. Kamilah means The Perfect One. We had the name on our mind for a while and then my results for spina bifida came as positive when I was expecting Kamilah. At 18 weeks, after some more scans at the fetal specialists, we were told that our baby was a girl and she was perfect! So we decided to name her as it holds a really special meaning for us.

If we have a boy next time we want to name him Zia which means Light or Splendor and if its a girl, we might name her Annah (not too sure f the meaning) and I also like Hirah which is the mountain where our Prophet received the revelation for our Holy Book.

Island Princess,
Mom to Kamilah born at Constantiaberg Medi Clinic, Cape Town - 18th of June 2009
Missed Miscarriage Survivor, 1 sleeping angel - 28th of June 2007

Hi Gals

Bubbles suggested this and I think it would be lovely if we share.
PS: Pregy moms, please share what you have decided on :)

1. What's ur baby(s) name?
2. Who named him or her?
3. The meaning behind it?

If you were "hijacked" like me...what were you going to name ur child? Those who are planning to "expand" their families...what is the name of your next LO?

I'll start:

My son's names are: Lwandle Zenande. His dad gave them to him. Lwandle is Ocean, Zenande means May you grow. So his dad's meaning is May you grow and your prosperities be the size of the Ocean . My meaning (which I always say to him) My love for you is the size of the ocean  He'd give me his prizeless smile :)

I wanted to name him Uzile Omhle - the beautiful one has arrived! But I got 'hijacked' Too bad there wont be a second one :cheer: If there was gonna be, I was going to name him Langa meaning Sun...then I would have my Ocean and Sun...what a beautiful view and combination I'd have had ;)
