Hi Ladies!!!

Im back at work for two weeks now, and Isla is in creche and doing absolutely great! I was so dreading this, but it is good to be back in a normal-ish routine (and showered and dressed before 10 in the morning) and it makes my heart so much lighter to see her excited and happy every morning when dropping her off at creche.

Momtoc, you have a beautiful son!! I will post a couple pics of Isla too.

Isla is a wonderfully easy baby. Apart from the horrible colic, which lasted until 3 months, she is so happy and content, and only cries now if she needs something. But more often she is smiling or laughing.

I breastfed exclusively for 4 months, and started on some formula then. she took to the bottel very easily. We are now on one or two breastfeeds per day (morning and before bed), and the rest formula. She is also eating 3x per day, rice cereal and veggies.

Very eager to hear from you ladies!

Afm, I got another month from my boss so I am only starting 2nd May instead if 2nd of April I am still stressing about goinf back to work.....I just wanna cry
Jayden loves his milkies. He drinks every 2 hours, sometimes 3 hourly. He stretches during the night. I haven't gotten him used to the bottle yet. He takes ut on and off...... Overall, he is such a joy. He smiles alot, started babbling and squelling alot. His gums are itching like crazy so he is a but restless at times. His sister loves him too bits BUT has also started with the 'you love him more than me' story but I knew it was coming and that it is completely normal. We just keep telling her that we love her just as much as her brother but she mostly does that when she was naughty.

momtoc - have you tried laying down while feeding, this usually helps a bit with a fast let down since gravity isn't also playing a roll then. I don't know how you feed him, but let him drink on the same breast for 2 hours (not all in one go!, every time he wants to drink during those 2 hours, offer the same breast) this ensures that he gets for-, middle and enough hindmilk

I thought the thread was dying out too, glad you posted. Your son is too cute! He looks like a big boy already. How is your lg treating him? Is she being the good older sister? I'm experiencing the same thing with the fast let down and baby who won't leave the breast. I started expressing and bottle feeding from 3weeks already, otherwise I would never have left the house. Izaan still prefers the breast though, and the bottle is perfect for when we go out.

Izaan is extremely gassy and really struggles to relieve he's winds. After feeding he won't stop pressing and fussing until he makes a poo. I give him gripe water but that don't seem to help.

Have any of you ladies had you sons circumsized yet? I did Izaans at 3 weeks....it was the most traumatic experience ever! I cried just as much as him in the doctors office

Sjoe, it looks like this thread is dying out I know we are all busy with our lo's & don't have alot of time available but we have to keep this thread going........

Just because we had our babies, doesn't mean everything must come to an end. We can still chat on here to get advice, share our experiences and see how all our lo's grow!

How are all the new mommies doing?
Jayden is keeping me very busy. He is constantly on the breast, doesn't always sleep long during the day and it seems like I have a fast let down, which means my milk comes out too quickly which causes him to gulp, choke, swallow quickly and so on. It also causes him to take in alot of foremilk and not enough of the hindmilk - the fatty milk. This is causing his poo to go green and causing all the fussiness. I am trying to express a little milk out before he feeds to relieve some pressure and also offering him the last breast he was on every time he feeds. If it doesn't work, I will try expressing my milk and giving him the bottle to see if it helps.

Here is a pic of him. I can't believe he'll be 6 weeks on thurs and he already picked up over a kilo before he was 4 weeks and weighed 4.2kg that time.

most of us are home and using the telephonic forums now. this is my goodbye to this community maybe until my next baby, if that happens.

This forum was very helpful and i appreciate the help i got from yall. as a farewell i thought i would share my birthing story.

i think my son was the last baby in this forum, he was born on 09/12/12, at 39 weekd, his weight was 38kg with a length of 50. it was natural with epidural.

on sunday 09/12/2012 i started feeling cramps at 5am, i thought it was just braxton hicks and changed sleeping positions. at 7am i got a hectic one, went to the loo to pea felt like a number two but nothing came, i was visiting my grandma so she panicked and called my mom to take me to the hospital. 15 min later i got another one, took a bath and started getting ready for the hospital. i was really not expecting baby on that day.

at 8:00am we arrived at the hospital, my contractions whr still 15min apart and i was 3cm dialeted. got the epidural at 4cm which really slowed the action. At 4pm i was 7cm dialeted and the doc said i would go for the csec if at 7pm things whr still slow. i started feeling the cramps so they gave me half a dossage of the epidural. at 5:30 i was 8cm n feeling pain again so they gave me another half a dosage. at 6pm i was 9cm dialeted n the doc n nurse prepared me for birth, the nurse pushed my tummy down and pushing at 6:15 and at 6:18 out baby came, very quick, only did two pushes. he had the cord around his neck so doc had to cut it and pull him out.

it was not a bad birthing experience and my angel has been very sweet sleeping through the nights. my nipples r killing me though cause he sucks me crazy and refuses the bottle.

thank you for sharing my pregnancy with me it has been great. would like to hear updates frm BoomBoom, Klk and other ladies that started this forum. chao ladies!!
