This cutting business is really freaking me out! Think i need to have a serious chat with my Dr. I was 100% sure of my decision to go for vaginal birth...but now i'm not so sure anymore, especially since they say that more than 80% of new moms will tear/get cut.

Mosaneo, do you have a secon choice hospital that is covered by your medical aid?

Congrats Pale on ur new job, that is so nice. Where do you stay? I a moving to Krugersdorp, Sugarbush and i saw that Flora Clini is closer to that side but it is not covered in my stupid medical aid.

Momtoc i have the same frustrations, i have decided to take my son out of creche end of September and look for a school with grade R for next year, so far not good because i am not finding the school. Where are you moving to?

I had Natural birth, i was cut, i didnt feel it when they cut me, i do not know when they did it but i felt alot of pain when they took out the placenta and stiched me up. the stiches were long and very painful, bearable pain though, you just need pain meds and you will be fine. I couldnt walk or sit, when the baby cried at night the stiches would also be painful and it takes about two weeks to heal. I pray i do not get them this time. They are sore!!!!

Wow palesa....so happy for you! Congrats on the new job, hopefully time will go much quicker for you now. Thankfully your new manager is understanding. 

Magz, I'm also scared of the episiotomy. My cousin got a 3rd degree tear with her first baby, it was so bad that they told her she won't be able to have natural delivery again. I've read that the body heals better with a tear, than a cut, because it's natural. But I'm Afraid of an uncontrolled tear, my cousin's almost reached her anus...eek. 

Momtoc, I don't envy you with the move. How far are you moving that you have to change your daughter's crèche? 

lol momtoc the perineal and keygel massage i read up on those but dont have the heart to do it.

Sjoe, looks like we are all craving cold stuff I have been eating ice-cream right through my pregnancy so far. I love the heaven triple choc ice-cream & anything caramel or fudgie hehe.

Mandri & Bondelq, just be careful when purchasing certain things on Groupon. I have heard so many stories of people struggling with some of the places who have deals on there. Try & google their name first & maybe check hello peter just to be on the safe side.

Magz, I hate planning things......It just stresses me out ha ha ha. I think it's because I always want things to be perfect cause I'm a bit of a perfectionist & I just want everybody to have a good time, which I'm sure they will.

Palesa, I think alot of us pregnant fairies are a bit over emotional at times. I couldn't help but have a little laugh when I read the puppy story
Congrats on the new internal job & that your boss was just as happy with the pregnancy as you.
Congrats on your son's birthday. I can only imagine how hectic it must have been with all the boys..

Ms_S, glad you enjoyed your scan. So you & hubby are going to celebrate with some cheese snackwiches.........hehe, sounds lovely

Magz, I've never had a normal delivery but what I've heard from various people, incl my mother is that it's always worse, pain wise, if they have to cut you down there. Some women do tears & others are just lucky. It terrifies me as well but you can start preparing yourself down there. You can start massaging your perineum at night or you can ask hubby to help
You can just google the technique so that you have an idea on how to do it.

AFM, I'm home today. I wasn't feeling well yesterday. I've been feeling nauseous since yesterday, was struggling to eat & had alot of pain on different places on my body. I think it's just all the stress I've been going through these last few weeks. We have to move in the next month(long long story) & now I have to take my daughter out of creche & put her in a new one for the remainder of the year & I need to find her a school for next year as she is going to Gr. R. This is just the tip of the ice berg I'm going through

Yho Mags i was very lucky and didnt get one with my son. it`s gives me nightmares when i think about it. my friend just had a baby a month ago when i asked her she said if you open wide then they wont cut you dont know how true that is.

i was told that it heals quite quickly when treated accordingly. hope fully the other ladies will have advice for us.
