I think I might have gotten the hang of this nausea thing - I only eat small bites about 20 times a day that way my stomach is never empty - which seemed to have been causing the nausea.

@BabyT - completely agree with your theory about why its called morning sickness! I could barely drag myself out of bed on Saturday b.c i felt so completely sick to my stomach from the moment I woke up. I made a desperate plea to the pharmacist who gave me the Emex syrup and also Asec tabs, thanks to the ladies who suggested that. I have had the syrup to date and that really does help. I think I will alternate between the syrup and the tabs just so that I dont get used to one or the other.

I personally prefer to call it the not-so-morning-sickness... And I have come to realise that the only reason it is actually called morning sickness is because you feel sick from the one morning straight through to the next morning... Hahahaha...

I also have issues with bloat - which started getting worse this week - but it really has not spesific time for me, I feel that way the entire day...

I am just focusing on the fact that this will pass in time

Hello everyone, so exciting to join a group where we're all due in the same month! I'm also a first time mom-to-be, and 7w2d along.

Feeling very sorry for myself I must admit. Whoever decided to call it 'morning sickness', didn't know what (probably 'he') was talking about. They should call it 'all-day-sickness'. The only time I don't feel nauseous is around lunchtime, and it's worst in the evenings

I've been taking Emex syrup on my doctor's recommendation, and that helps a little. He also told me to stop taking my PregOmega till the 2nd trimester as it could be making the nausea worse, and to just take a folic acid supplement, and my Omegas in the evening before bed.

Every day at exactly 14:00, after lunch, I bloat like a balloon and sometimes it's so painful I need to lie down on the work couch before being able to drive home. Every single day... Has anyone experienced this??

I just wanted to add my 2c about Genesis clinic. It is amazing!!!
If you end up having a c-sec, they have a fully equipped theatre there. If your baby needs to stay in NICU for any reason, they will stabilize him/her at genesis, then transfer to Parklane clinic... which is only 4.5kms from Genesis.
I had 2 incredible water births drug free. Both babies early 35/36 weeks, tiny and perfect... didn't need NICU stay with either of them.
You WON'T regret it if you chose to birth at Genesis.

Welcome Stormy! Congrats on the good news!

This is also my first time, due mid Feb. Went for first scan last week, saw the heart beat I also felt like you do now until I could see the evidence, it is a surreal feeling to start with.

So bloated today that I look like I'm a month further along!

Yes, smells are strong now, food aversions are also there but I just eat whatever I feel like and often.

All my colleagues know already so I don't have to hide anything, we are a small company so we are all really friendly and know each other fairly well. It would basically be impossible to hide it without suspicion.

Thank you all so very much, I think this group is going to be exactly what I need!!!
