Welcome and congratulations @Stormy! Hoping for a happy healthy pregnancy for you.

I am (i think) the only 2nd time mom on the form (for now), but every pregnancy is different so we all learn new things every day :)

As @BabyT mentioned, you should get decreased morning sickness by your 2nd trimester, this is because your HCG hormone then levels out and your placenta takes over fully - right now your placenta is too immature to function 100% as required so the HCG hormone picks up the slack which is what makes you feel queezy. As for food aversions and smells, those should also level out in the 2nd trimester for the same reasons, but of course every pregnancy is different so you can really only go on averages of other women and you might be the same.

I am seeing my doc in 2 weeks time as well, I am also in my 5th week, due on 28 Feb.

Have any of you been to the doc since finding out your pregnant?

I really think I am in a place right now where I a like my body is being weird but I have not fully registered I am pregnant... I don't think until I see that heart beat and the little bean will I feel truly pregnant,

Anyone else experiencing this?

We are all just winging is so far @Stormy, at least we also have some experienced ladies in here (phew!).

I have read that for most woman the symptoms such as morning sickness, decreases significantly by 12 weeks - so I don't think you have to worry about it becoming psychological - as soon you your body figures out how to cope with all the extra hormones things will get better, I am sure...

I am also seeing the gynae in two weeks time - and today I am officially 7 weeks along

Think this ride is going to get bumpier before it gets smoother...

Congrats ladies!!!

I must say the cramps at 4 weeks were not the best,

No morning sickness yet, I do find smells are getting to me more so than they did before, I was a smoker and could always handle the smell of smoke now its a big no no.

I have been very bloated in week 5 I had to undo my top button of my pants yesterday but today not so bad.

So far I have found I cant treat myself to samosas as I had terrible indigestion all night where my burps kept feeling like it may actually be me trying to throw up.

I do worry at times though that things may become psychological.

Welcome and Congratulations @Stormy.

@BabyT and I are also new moms, I am not sure who else is a new mom. I think just stay calm and equip yourself with information and monitor your symptoms so you can discuss them with your doctor when you see him.

I also had the strangest tummy cramps at 5 weeks. I am currently 6 weeks and 4 days and the cramps are gone. So hang in there I think it will pass.

How are you feeling, morning sickness yet?

Hi All,

I am still very new to this forum, (forums in general).

I found out about 4 days ago that I am pregnant and according to a few different on line calculators I am due in Feb next year so I am in week 5.

I had no idea I was pregnant except my period was late, I have Endometriosis, I had my laparoscopy in May so we have only been trying for 2 months.

Last week I had incredible tummy cramps that winded me quite badly, I had no idea what was going on but carried on my days and ignored it.

This week I started off so very tired, but I have been taking my vitamins for 2 months now so I think they finally taking effect as the last 2 days I have had my normal energy again.

I am from DBN and my Gynea will be Dr Garrib, I am only going to make an appointment in about 3 weeks time with him though.

Any advise for a young first time mom?
