@ Monei, I think that your HR has a good thing going with a strict 4 weeks policy as I am sure most people won't make getting to work at the later stage of their pregnancy.

CDLK, I have not had any BH yet but here they can be painful and confusing if you are waiting for labour to start.

@ Maj, glad that all is good and holding thumbs that your iron level results will be good news. I went for my glucose and another blood test today and hope that all the chocolate I have been eating has not spiked my levels

@ Blou, now you are playing the waiting game. It seems like baby is nice and comfortable still inside.

AFM, scan went really well today at 34w4d and baby's head is down but not engaged yet. Doc says she will be 3.6kg+ at birth and will not come early so the 15th May it is. Going back in 2.5 weeks time. Time is going by so fast.
I have a steadily weight increase now every week and my chocolate craving is still at full force

@Blou - goodness me my hat of to you for still working!! I also feel like dying still being at work and I can't wait for tomorrow when it is my last day. I am as slow as a snail..

@Sonsbaby - I also recently found out about the online UIF but I already opted to use the same agency as I did with my son so already paid unfortunately. However they were quite good the previous time, I just hope same goes for this time around!!

@Ninies - I hope 2nd baby is not bigger...this one is a little girl and she has to be close to 4kg if she's going to be bigger than my son lol

I am soooo annoyed with everything and everyone at the moment. I actually feel like I can climb into bed and stay there until the due date. We have some inlaw issues where my sister in law seems to think I don't like her and now there's issues there...urgghhh I don't have time for these childish things! I am planning on going for mani pedi tomorrow and next week book a facial and preggie massage - any suggestions of where to book preggie massage?

My son is sooo excited for his sister to come. We've put a calendar up on the fridge and now we're counting the days until 21st. He is also so tentative, when I want to get up from the couch he offers to pull mommy up and he brings me the ottoman to put my feet up. He is such a sweet boy and it makes my heart so happy to think he'll be such an excellent brother. He is very interested in babies and little kids. I can't wait to have both my children in my arms!!

@Blou - My c-section is booked for 10:00 am on Tuesday morning (12th April 2016). I just came from the doctor after my "last" check up and everything is still fine. Baby could still decide to come earlier, if not, then he will be born on Tuesday morning.

I honestly dont know how you manage at work still. I am working from home, but I would die if I had to go to the office.

@LolaBunny - I am also tired of the "how are you feeling" question and people making such a big fuss. But perhaps we will miss it once it is over.

@Maj - I am also baffled by how they calculate the weight. And babies never weigh what they said before. So I dont even know why they would bother doing all those measuring...
I have heard that 2nd babies are usually bigger than 1st babies though. So I think we are then looking at a 3.5kg + baby.

@ Blou, how are you managing at work?! most of here are complaining about it everyday!!

I think alot of people just dont make it to 40 weeks nowadays! (really hope I do!)

Im sure at Femina, hey will let you try natural inductions before they use meds.
I have also heard that inducing causing more pains, and drags the process out as your body and baby are not ready and are being "forced" into it!

@LolaBunny, hopefully this time (if you are inducted), it will go as well as it did with yr first (or even better!)

Lol about MIL. my mum the other day told me "2nd babies come earlier than 1st!"

people are trying to be supportive, but yes, it is annoying!

regarding weights: i am baffled as to how they determine it! cos they measure the head, leg and abdomen and then use some formula to determine the weight....

@Blou Sonneblom - I had induction, it went SO fast! I was expected to deliver after 2, and baby came at 11 am. I didn't have epidural - I waited too late to ask, but I felt absolutely no pain once she was placed in my arms. I even had stitches! But each person is different, maybe I was just lucky. My friend had induction and absolutely nothing happened - she ended up with emergency c-section.

First baby was weighing around 3 kg on the scan and then she was born at 2.81 kg - so yeah, it is pretty inaccurate alot of the time. My problem is that I have to hope for early labour or a small baby, because I am quite small lol! That's what both my gyni's said. But I've just decided that whatever happens, happens. My little girl was totally fine - latched on immediately and was awake and alert afterwards

I say well done to you for having so much patience as well! I was at my wits end around 38 weeks...I told my husband every day that "this baby needs to come out now" lol!

My M-I-L is convinced this child is coming tomorrow - as in, everytime she phones, she's like...any day now, baby is coming any day *ugh* I'm only due 22 May - but according to her that means "any day now" So I also have to deal with that

@LolaBunny, the only reason I do not want an induction is because I have heard that it makes the labour pains worse, and as I am hoping for an unmedicated birth, that just sounds painful, but I could be wrong you never know.

Also I have heard that bigger babies birth easier than smaller babies, because they are stronger and can work better with the mother during the birth process, apparently the smaller babies struggle and then the birth is more difficult..

But I think it does get scary if the baby gets too big, our last appointment with a gynae was on 24 March, and then he already weighed 3.2 kg according to her, so we will have to see. Sometimes they are off with the weight, they are not always 100% accurate. I know somebody who they told that her baby was 3.2 kg, but he was born at 2.8 kg.

I understand completely how you feel with people asking how you are doing, at the moment everybody keeps sending me messages asking the same question, as I am already 39 weeks along, everybody is expecting the baby to come at any moment, I completely understand that they are excited and curious, but we have created a whatsapp group and promised to let everybody know as soon as something happens, it is like they don't believe we will let them know, like they think if they send me a message, I will reply and say that I am in labour, maybe it is just the pregnancy hormones that are making me emotional, I know they mean well

@Blou Sonneblom - I WANT an induction lol!!
I had to have one with first baby, because gyni said if I didn't, then it was going to be c-section because she was supposed to be like 3.5kg. Which is pretty average size, but considering my sisters and I were all 2.4,2.5,2.6kg - it's pretty "big" for my family This one is going for the same size as well, but gyni hasn't said anything yet about induction. I think I will ask her at the next visit. We have been going every 2 weeks since 26 weeks because baby has a small head and she wants to monitor it. I don't mind, because I get to see her so often, but hubby is complaining about all the co-payments

I don't know about you all, but I'm getting so tired/fed up with the "how are you doing?" question!
I know everyone means well and they are genuinely interested...but it's suddenly so annoying to hear that question. I just smile and say, everything's fine, baby is fine *fake smile* - but really, i'm like...what do you think??! I'm huge, tired, I can't sleep (hips pain) and my toddler wants to be attached to my face at all times lol!
