Hi ladies!

@LisaMcK, congratulations on the birth of your little one, what day was she born? Was it 24 March, because then she shares my birthday with me hahaha :woohoo:

@ninies, when is your c-section?

I have been very quiet, just been trying to get everything done before baby comes, it has been hectic! I am 39 weeks today and no signs of labour yet, I am still working and if baby does not come by his due date, I will work until next Friday, when I will be 40 weeks and 1 day

Due date is 14 April, but I am hopefully having a normal birth so we will see when he decides to come, it is so funny, a lot of people just assumed he would come early, I am not sure why, actually I know a couple of ladies who had more or less the same due as me and they have all had their babies so that is just funny. I just hope he does not wait too long because I do not want an induction :S

Don't know if I mentioned it before, but we did eventually switch hospitals, so I will be giving birth at the midwife birth unit at Femina hospital, I am actually looking forward to it, the midwives are excellent, and I am sure it will be a wonderful, positive, unmedicated natural birth

So far I have just been waddling along hehehe, having difficulty sleeping due to being so uncomfortable, I also struggle to get up when I have been sitting or lying down for a long time, and I have terrible back ache most of the time. Luckily I still only get up once at night to go to the bathroom, so I am thankful for that.

I cannot believe how the time has gone by, and pretty soon we will all have our babies :woohoo:

Have a wonderful day!

@monei,
Good luck for the test.
I think I stopped wearing make-up when the tiredness hit in the 1st tri.

@Sonsbaby, i also heard that you can do the UIF online. But I asked a friend of mine who is on maternity leave at the moment, and she said the co. has not told her anything. But I guess if the co. tells you, you can do it yourself, you wont really make use of their service...

The app went well. Baby is growing as she should, about 2.7kgs @ 35 weeks, amniotic levels, blood flow, etc are all ok. Had to get another iron test done, hopefully my levels are ok, else I will need to go to hospital to get an iron drip :(

Cant wait for the weekend!!

I spoke to a lady that used to work with one of those maternity UIF companies and she is going to help me do my UIF. Apparently anyone can do it online now! You just have to go to www.ufiling.co.za and register there. Then from there on they guide you through the process. The whole UIF application does not seem so dark and uncertain anymore LOL!!

@Maj - how did your appointment go?

@Monei - opening that bag felt to me like opening a long awaited Christmas pressie LOL!

Hey ladies,

i don't think i have braxton hicks though midwife said i can expect them. he is just very busy. like he has hiccups- that's how frequent the taps are. very distracting when i'm tryna sit still and study for my test tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to collect the famous Dischem goodie bag! yet to open it. Can't wait to see what's in it! #smallthingstogetexctiedabout

Our family photoshoot pics are ready for picking. we need to pic 10 out of 114! LOL! I love them. Still have my 'nude ambition' maternity one next weekend. That one is part of a package that includes newborn and 6 months and a photobook of them all. Yeah, definitely my first kid. Hope i can maintain it- likely to be against my husband's desires. lol!

My tummy feels huge today. walking slower. wearing make up to work this week. hubby even asked what's up. I've clearly bn slacking...for him to ask such. means I've bn slacking for sure. lol.

Morning Ladies,

That waddling around is ridiculous! I feel so slow! and EVERYONE has to comment about it! I mean really?!! just dont say anything if you have nothing nice to say!!

I dont know if I am having Braxton Hicks or not! But this child does not stop jabbing and stretching and sticking her butt out!!
And she "complains" if I sit for too long, as if she is getting squashed!

I have swopped sides of the beds with hubby, as its easier for me to get out of bed on that end! But Im still very lucky that I dont need to go to the loo too often.
Think of the lack of sleep as prep for when the baby is here. Then it wont be as much of an adjustment if the baby wakes often, or you can appreciate the sleep, if the baby sleeps well at night!!

@monei, falling "asleep" with hypnobirthing: its about relaxing, and if relaxing is sleeping, so be it!!

Have my 34/35 week app this afternoon!

Good morning Ladies!

So good to see that everyone's babies are growing well! Time really flew!

I am so sooo tired not sure how I am going to cope next week with work! And I have no option of working from home could cry really!! Well did the cry thing last night when I woke up for the third time since I went to bed to empty the bladder and realised it was only 2:30 and it didn't help that the sleep was restless. I keep on waking up if I turn around cause its so painful! I have to support my belly while I turn from the one side to the other and then my whole belly goes stiff and it hurts! Finding a comfy position is so difficult now! I dream of just sleeping through one night!

Cant wait for my gynea appointment Friday. Took the day off so at least I can stay in bed a bit longer!

I am also having Braxton hicks contractions and doing the waddling duck especially when I sat down for a bit then its the very old duck waddle

Hallo ladies....

The days are getting fewer and fewer for all of us....Can you believe we are almost done.

I am at home today. Although my maternity leave started on 01 April, I have still been to the office. But for this week I will just do some work from home - you know those last loose ends that needs attention.

I am seeing my doctor again tomorrow afternoon for our last check up. This will be the only appointment that hubby cant attend with me as he is not able to get off. His leave is already booked for the 12th which is the date of the c-section. And I have a big fear that the doctor might send me to hospital after the appointment for an emergency c-section.
It is funny what our emotions can do to us.

I have been for a manicure yesterday and just painted my nails french. No artificial nails or anything. Does anyone that is having a c-section know if they will make you remove the nail polish?
I cant remember from the last time

@ CDLK - I have also been having quite alot of braxton hicks contractions.

@licious - I am also waddling and really struggling to get up after sitting for long periods of time. Another thing is that I need to visit the loo too often. I have to schedule my trips so that I dont spend too long at the shops or atleast that there is a toilet close by.

@MamaK - you must send us a photo from your maternity shoot. I did one with my son 5 years ago but never got to do the newborn shoot. So this time round I decided we will do the newborn shoot and not the maternity shoot.
