@Sonsbaby: I think they book the 4D scan between 28-32 weeks. Always best to phone early though as apparently they get booked up very quickly. I phoned yesterday and will be going on the 1st of March. Most gynae's are pro-csection. I'm actually seeing a gynae next year that is pro-natural as my gynae is going on maternity leave so she won't be delivering our baby.

Good morning ladies!!

Its the middle of the week and I cant wait for Friday!! We going to the fetal specialist on recommendation of my gynea. Our baby lying in such a way he cannot see all the organs and cant even say if its a girl or boy lol! This little one is stubborn and didn't want to move no matter how much the dr prodded and poked at it  Well holding thumbs that the specialist will see better and then we know if we can buy pink or blue!! :woohoo:

@LisaMcK - When are you due? Don't be too nervous about the blood sugar tests...it does take long I was at Pathcare for 5 hours so take reading material or something lol! My tests wasn't very high at all but my dr is very cautious so he still recommended me testing everyday with a homekit and watching what I eat so it does not go high. All I know now is that even if you have gestational diabetes it will most likely disappear once you give birth. Good luck for your test! btw...love the pic and beautiful name!!

Its strange to still hear that they recommend natural birth till the last moment? Most gyneas is pro C-section these days its hard to find one that is totally pro-natural (well around here were we live) ...I want to do natural and my gynea does not seem too keen...

When is the ideal time to go for a 4D scan?

Hello Ladies

Went for my scan today... all is good. Got a beautiful picture of our little girls face, even though she was sleeping and kept putting her hands in front of her face! She is looking straight ahead in the pic. We have decided to name her Skylah.

@sonsbaby - I am also curious to learn more about gestational diabetes. I need to go for a comprehensive blood sugar screening asap so I am a bit nervous about the outcome...

@Jay-Bee - pram shopping is confusing! We chose the Chelino Urban Tour 3 wheeler combo simply because my hubby liked the look of it. I really don't think it will fit in my boot though :)

I booked the hospital bed today and will go for my 4D scan in the new year. Also got a tour of the maternity ward and it makes everything so real and the nerves are starting to kick in.

I am really wanting to go for a C-section, I was advised to rather book for a natural birth and was basically told that they will find a reason closer to the time to a caesarean happen. Has anyone booked an elective caesarean and where there any additional costs that medical aid would not cover.

Hi Ladies,

I think I am the only person loving the heat! But I guess CT heat aint as bad as elsewhere! my hormones havent seemed to have effected my temperature, hubby feels hot, and I still need to wear a light cardigan at times!! but I have always been "cold-blooded"!! :silly:

@Jay-bee, prams are a major headache! we want to get the best, and I have found we only ever use it in a shopping center. Borrowed my sister's stroller when my LG was 1, and used that more than the ridiculously expensive bulky pram we bought!!

@Sonsbaby, welcome and congrats. About the mod swings, I have become very impatient, and end up being snappy with everyone, especially hubby. I dont end up crying much, but hormones effect each of us differently!

Morning Ladies :)

Glad to hear you are all doing so well - went back a few pages to catch up. I know it's been ages since I've been on. Life has just been a bit crazy. Hubby has been going through a lot of work drama so thankfully that's all passed now.

Our baba is due the 23rd of May and they think it could be a boy - will confirm in January :) Don't really mind what the gender is as long as baby is healthy!

My gynae is also pregnant so she won't be delivering our baby :( But never-the-less, I have a found a very pro-natural birth gynae at Park Lane Hospital which I've booked with for in February as we see our current gynae for the last time in January.

Hope you all have a fab day!
