Keep persevering with the breastfeeding. Perhaps once the infection is gone, the latching will get easier.

AFM, had my app on Tuesday afternoon. Dr said everything looks good, and "now we wait"! She is about 3.2kgs, I forgot to check length...

Its my last 2 days at work! well tomorrow everyone is going to have "pizza and a beer" as a farewell to myself and another manager, at 11, which gives me only enough time to clean my desk!

Hi ladies!

Just an update, my son's name is Regardt, I don't think I mentioned that.

Regardt is doing better, his infection count is down but he has some jaundice now as well so we are still in hospital, he is on antibiotcs and under the light, we hope to go home by Friday.

I would love to breastfeed but he has been struggling to latch, nipple shields seem to be working and I have been expressing colostrum and then milk for him. The cheap manual breast pump from Clicks for R183 has been a lifesaver! I plan to get another electric pump later.

@licious, I struggled with bladder infections during the last month of my pregnancy, he could have gotten it from me because of that, they don't really know.

@Jay-Bee01, I just got in the bath and tried to relax, and then I just lied down on the bed for a while as well and tried to relax through the contractions. I drank 3 x 1000 mg Evening Primrose Oil capsules a day for the last two or three wees, don't know if that contributed or not. By the way, I also bought the pack of Woolies nursing bra's and love them!

I have a 2.5 year old at home this week with eye and ear infection not fun.
Had 36 week scan today and Gyni says baby is 2.4kg and head down, but not low. She's just assuming the position only seeing her 12 may next! so this girl needs to be good till then. I am not up for a stranger delivering her. Gyni says I can have natural birth and she's even happy to do 39 week induction if we have to. Though I'm seeing her so late....I will let baby decide rather.
I am basically packed, but keeping the bag in the house. Last time we left it all in the car, and hubby locked his keys in the boot...with no spare
@JayB, we have so many May birthdays too....I give up on hoping for a good date >_<

@ Maj, I have given up on having a April baby and holding all my fingers and toes that she gets her own birth day and won't have to share it with another family member in May. From 39w I will be walking, walking, walking and doing all the other natural inductions.

I had the internal and was so shocked that it took less than 5 seconds I was stressing about it and Googled way too much. I am sure all is going to go well and ask them about the contractions too.

Let me know how it goes.

@licious, so I hadn't really planned to do the packing yesterday. Most evenings i get home, its supper, and then put my daughter to bed, i fall asleep with her, and then that is the end of the evening.
But yesterday I was having contractions. I didn't bother timing them, but they seemed to be on and off for the entire day. At dinner they were a bit more intense! so it was my wake-up call. Packed baby's bag, and then my own. Am still missing alot from my bag, but at least I have something in there!

@ Maj, I have also slacked so much with my massages and Rainbow, but I am determined to get my act together starting from today. They say the nesting period sets in now but I think I had that a few weeks ago and just so tired now. Good luck with your appointment later.

AFM, coccyx is fine YAY so full steam ahead for natural birth Baby has started to engage and weights 3kg and all is good. Doc says she should be here from 39-40 weeks.

@Jay-Bee being at the end of pregnancy can be nerve wrecking as anything can happen but don't worry everything will be fine. please let us know how the appointment goes.
