Hi ladies
sorry to butt in here but I follow your thread because I'm so excited for you all!!!!!!!
Mom2B I am a midwife so I hope my opinion will help you
Induction will almost always land up failed and end in c-section if the Bishop score is not right. The bishop score takes into account the length of your cervix, the softness of it (ripeness), the descent of the baby, how many weeks you are and other factors.
Generally at 38 weeks, the cervix is unfavourable which means induction is likely to fail.
Induction is generally only used for mommies who are post dates (41 weeks).
Some mommies like to be induced by 40 weeks as they are tired and ready to have baby, and if you choose to go with induction, just remember if your bishop score indicates induction isn't a good option, you should keep that in mind.
type in bishop score and labour into google and it will give you more information. when your gynae does your internal exam to assess if induction will work, ask him your scores and then you'll be able to know for yourself if it's worth even trying for induction.
Hope that's helped a bit!!
