Vix, I would also love to get a report. But you'd be surprised at how much the stay at home kids actually learn. I spoke to my teacher friend the other day and she said only from 3 is it important for a child to go to nursery school because at that age you can't really teach them yourself anymore. She said the twins are on par with other 18m -olds development and they talk well etc. She said to help things along you must count with them like if you're breaking eggs into a bowl count 1 - 2, or if they're climbing steps count 1-2-3 etc. So I do that now. ANd she also says at this age you must put a lot of emphasis on colours so tell them "you're wearing your yellow shirt and blue pants today" etc.

It's so cold, we're going to have soup for dinner, thankfully I made loads before and froze it so stress free dinner for me tonight. Just going to make a soda bread in the bread maker because DH is off yeast.

Simone- I know your left overs aren't going to waste as such but you're also struggling for money so if you can work out to cook the right amount of food at each meal or rather make a batch and freeze in containers you'll be saving yourself a lot of money. When I make spag bol I use about 350-400g mince for the 3 of us but even that can be too much sometimes. A packet of spaghetti I split in to 3 so a 3rds does us for 1 meal. It'll be trial and error but I usually work on 250g uncooked meat per person or less if adding veggies like in a curry or stew. Actually no I probably use 200g per person. 1 chickem fillet per person per meal for stews and currys. I don't know why but they always pack fillets in 3's or 5's so I just buy the bulk pack of singulally wrapped fillets and freeze the whole lot, then I just take out what I need. Any news from Coke yet?

I must say the nice thing about using a camp cot is atleast it is all fabric and not wood, I always found C pushed up against the side of the cot.

Yoza- sorry about your dad's condition, I hope they can help him soon!

Lelani- it must be so nice to receive a school report. I know C doesn't learn half as much at home as he would at school but I'm sure he'll catch up one day. He's learning more impractical things like how to climb trees, stand in drains, sweep the paving is his latest fun game, keeps him quiet for hours LOL My child is a slave!

Lelani that is a gorgeous pic ... I have never seen snow  Well some day!!!
Hope the packing is going well.

Yoza I am so sorry that your dad has become so ill. Hope they get everything sorted to get him to CT ASAP!!! Hugs to you sweetie.

I agree with the other ladies, don't sweat the small stuff but I know it's frustrating if they aren't honest with you.

Nicole where are you?

lol Simone last week I made 1kg chicken curry for dh & I  Luckily that night we had supper at my moms so I took it over there. But most often I know our limit.
Already cooked the chicken ala king for supper tonight, just took rice over to mil and asked her to boil so I don't have to wait for that to feed Shrey tonight.

Yip lasts nights weather was perfect for ooh la la lol and trust me dh took advantage of that. Think it was more cos I was going gaga over the soccer players hehehe

Simone we also cook large quantities and now freeze it so that a) we don't waste and b) we don't overeat.

Vix Cape town doesn't get really low temps like you do so we drop to about 8 in the early morning but then it doesn't warm up much so today is 12. The difference is we get miserable rain too so it feels colder and the wind is icy from the snow on the mountains.

We camped during winter at the blyde river canyon. Blood hell it was freezing at night but Neil swam in the mountain river later that day. No chance of that is CT.

I am 17km from city centre so not too bad. We actually went to town for the Dentist on Sat and it was dead.

Yip dylan has cut his eye from a carpet.

Almost moving time Lelani. x

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.
